The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Early days of getting computers in at work. One of the top bosses was the first to have the equipment delivered to his office.
He was strutting around telling people it was working like a dream and when someone went in his office, there he was, tapping away on his new keyboard and looking intently at his monitor.

The office server wasn't switched on until the next day.

Clearly there should be no repeat entries, which means everyone will have to study the song list from last time.

I personally think the winning song should gain automatic entry into the first round, to see if it can defend it's crown.

Then, as long as posters don't vote "tactically" we'll see if it was a worthy winner (or not)

It's come up a couple of times in the above comments but I support the idea that at least one song should be from outside the UK-North American axis.

Also, somebody said that no song from an artist that was in the top 10 last time around and I agree that this would be a good idea (but I don't think BH will go for it).

Also, given that you only have 5 picks, there should be no more than one song from each city/area - i.e. people should not be picking Manchester bands in droves - there's a whole world of music to choose from.
