It should definitely stay in place for non-contentious decisions such as automated offsides.

Make it a lot more transparent, mic up the refs like in rugby and play all replays on big screens.

I am surprised you think offsides are non-contentious. They are the decisions that lead to the most delay, confusion and disallowed goals for hardly any reason whatsoever.

Weirdly, I like what Webb has done with accepting referees' decisions unless there really is a clear and obvious error. Giving control back to the on-field officials but with the ability to correct clear and obvious errors. I would like to see the same for offsides. Forget 100% accuracy and offsides as a matter of fact.

Honestly keep it.

But the crowd in the stadium needs to know whata going on. Show the offside process on the big screens. For fouls/penalties etc it should be communicated through the stadium speakers. 'checking for high tackle, out of control' etc etc.

Problem is the VAR we got wasn't the one that was promised, clear and obvious error was the bar not checking offside to the mm when the equipment isn't accurate to that extent. Refs have stopped making decisions on the premise VAR will correct it but intervention is not consistent, to my mind leave it in but If it takes longer than 20 secs it's not obvious carry on.

I'd simplify it by using it for offside and red cards only.
All other analysis is mainly subjective anyway ( I.e. handball, penalties, fouls in the build up etc) even with VAR.
If it was a straight decision between retain and scrap, I'd scrap it. It's ruining the game and the enjoyment of celebrating a goal.

If city are denied a title winning goal this weekend because Haaland is a millimetre offside then I'll be annoyed and I'll hate VAR. If West Ham score a last minute title-denying goal which is offside and VAR disallows it then I will love VAR.

Of course everybody deep down wants it and equally they don't want it so the powers that be can't win. Either way it's stupid to get rid of a tool that helps the refs to make better decisions.

Just put the power in the refs hands, if the ref has seen something then fine, if the ref isn't sure then they can call upon VAR to sort it out. If VAR has spotted something and the ref hasn't or has clearly got it wrong then fine.

It takes a bit of time to sort but I think it's working and it's only making things better. We'll soon get used to it.

Being in the stadium and nt being able to properly celebrate a goal through the trepidation of seeing a goal chalked off on the big screen by VAR has taken a lot of (previous) pleasure from attending Live games. Not only that, the fans at live games often have no idea what's happening because VAR incidents are not shown on the big screens. At least you get to see replays on the telly.

The sooner they fuck VAR off the better I think.
Couldn't agree more, most of the time now if it's tight I wait for it to be officially given, it's taken the whole joy out of celebrating a goal.

Bin it off, ref are too shite to use it and the rules around it are not fit for purpose.

come up with a proper plan for its use and extensive training and improved technology then it could return at some point

VAR ruined the first goal for me. Lingering doubt stopped me fully celebrating. Good job by you technology. Cunts.
exactly the same mate. Think Haaland probably even thought it was offside. Muted celebrations all around, awful. Scrap it.
