I was just thinking about this. Given the universal outpouring of love and respect for Klopp, I wonder what the media will do when a Manager who has actually done something spectacular decides to call it a day. My guess is it won’t be a love-in.
You're right. It won't.

However, it will be the greatest celebration this current crop of hacks will have ever planned.

The hatred we get from

Sky
BT
ITV
Every newspaper including the “Manchester” one
The publicly funded BBC
Uefa
The FA
The premier league

All of em

It would be a surprise if PIGMOB didn’t hate us

Sky Sports news will play Fiesta by the Pogues.

Talkshite will do a phone in saying Klopp was better.

Perhaps we just over think the press/media in this country ? Do they have that much influence on the world stage ? It's the world stage that City operate on.
Has it stopped big worldwide companies from sponsoring City ?
Has it slowed our momentum ?
Has it stopped world class players from coming to City.
Has it stopped the growth in new fans worldwide ?
Has it stopped the redevelopment of East Manchester ?
Does our club seem worried about the press/media in the UK?

In the grand scheme of things the UK press/media are playing to a small group of people. Which is getting smaller by the day.
Rags and dippers is their target, and to be fair its their knobhead section of fans. Than people like Goldbrigde plays them for knobheads and earns a mint lol.

I don't give two fucks about the press/media and I'm sure the club the players etc feel the same

I think this comes from a place of weakness.

It's not exactly what I'd call a champions mentally; Arteta pleading with David Moyes and West Ham to do him a favour.

I would imagine that if the shoe was on the other foot Pep would be referencing how we lost the initiative and take responsibility for that.

I'm pretty sure privately Arteta is fuming he wasn't more offensive at the Etihad.
I thought Arteta was offensive at the Etihad, like he always is.

They are just the bullies in the local primary school playground. Unfortunately for them we have left and play in the worlds playground where the riches are immense. They have yet to pass their 11+ and if they do they will find they cant bully the world.

At least Henry can,be ballanced, as he just said, unless they win don't talk, don't criticise city don't be cokcy as a tarquin

Ultimately

Our squad got weaker and has suffered big player injuries
Arse stengthened and have kept consistency all season.
Liverpool improved (or so they claimed till 3 weeks ago, now they are a weak squad again).

The difference is Pep expects us to go out and win and if we do great
Arteta came to our place for a draw, that mentality is why we are again on the cusp amd they needed spurs or west ham to help them.

but you won't read or hear that in the press

Skysports, talksport, the mail and the mirrors global reach is miniscule and in the stratosphere that city operate in amounts to nothing than a gnat on an elephants arse.

Espn and fox make skysports look like talksports and nobody in the us, china etc neither know nor care who simon jordan, de looney, harris are, ive said before the media in this country essentially operate in a vacuum of idiots recycling the same old shit to other idiots who want to believe, on a global scale which is where city they are exactly what we think they are which is nothing.

I love how the media have been forced to summarise Klopp's tenure at Liverpool as describing him as "a great human being".

Klopp and his dentures couldn't go the distance on the pitch and his season fizzled out like a damp squid leaving him with only the league cup like a forlorn boy holding his Teddy bear down by his side.

Sly Sports tried in vain to parade his trophy haul to highlight the incredible impact he has had at the club. Unfortunately for them we have that pesky thing called 'Social Media' which compared his trophies to Pep's and had the reverse effect of making him look a bit average at best.

The narrative has turned to that special relationship he has cultivated with those good folk of Merseyside and we've seen some endearing footage of him visiting poorly children and encouraging local musicians.

Meanwhile, in the real world............
In the real world the people who couldn't work with Klopp are coming back to work again in senior positions at LFC. Personally I think Klopp is a great manager (he proved that at Dortmund) but the idea that he is nice guy behind the scenes is total bollocks. Klopp is ruthless (not a bad thing) and so is Pep.

There will be huge love in, tempered by lots of chat around spend and cheating. Even if the 115 were before his time, it doesn't matter. Also, if we're cleared we'll never, ever be allowed to be clear of the chatter around the 115. It's become part of the English football narrative.

We'll never be respected.

The media in the UK is overrun with utd and liverpool players and utd and liverpool fans who aren't from Manchester. Meaning they chose to support them when they were winning things and now they're not they're very bitter and can't quite believe it - only way to have been overtaken is through cheating; the only explanation.

Instead of doing a joke Pep should have tore them a new one and called out the bias.

But to do that he would have needed to be prepared for such questions by a fierce media team which sadly we do not have.

Our media team think being nice and friendly will work.
It's working a fucking treat.
The more they hate the more we win.

Very true. This forum gets a much higher audience than the print version of most newspapers. In the case of the MEN (owned by Reach) their print sales have collapsed and their online audience is dominated by overseas MUFC fanboys. Print revenues still make up the biggest chunk of their income (75 per cent) but even digital revenues are in decline. Users don't stay on their site very long (the content is shit) and overseas online trolls are not attractive to advertisers. The MEN business is on its last legs which takes some doing when you consider that Manchester is one of the fastest-growing cities in Europe.

Interestingly football focus was actually complimentary. Shay Given added that Romero should have got a straight red for the assault on Ederson
Yes, Shay Given is probably City's biggest supporter within the BBC pundits ?
Don't rate Micah and Nedum doesn't seem to get the prime time gigs.
The Romero challenge has mysteriously been airbrushed. It wasn't even discussed immediately after the match ?
God knows what will happen on MOTD tomorrow night if City don't win on Sunday ?

I wonder how a whistleblower from the PL would be received by the media and fans if they came out and said it was all an attempt to smear City and derail us from success, driven by the red shirt clubs as they couldn’t or didn’t want to compete/invest!
They'd have "mental health issues" or be an ex-employee with an axe to grind etc, etc.
(As an aside, from someone who suffers severe bouts of depression I'm fecking sick of hearing that phrase attached to anyone who commits an atrocity)
