I'm the opposite. If we're cleared I won't give a fuck what anyone says, but being cleared is the absolute must here. Some people will always hold their fucked up opinion but enough people on middle ground will have a change of attitude.

There's a "clear and obvious" way out for the PL which preserves the brand and makes them look decent regulators.

Their chance to do this vanished when they announced 'charges'. They have basically said they have found evidence of guilt and passed it to a panel to pass judgement. The investigation is over.
If the panel doesn't agree with their conclusions, the only way they can save face is if we produce evidence to the panel that we withheld from the PL investigation.
If we then provide an explanation to the panel as to why we withheld evidence and the panel agree with us, the PL will be utterly fucked as a organisation with any integrity or competence.

I was meaning more with regards to the negative press we're receiving, I don't see it as having toned down any.
