Bruno Guimaraes

If Bruno G was that unsettled he wouldn't have signed his contract extension in December

Ray, a release clause being triggered and a player willing to leave means everything. Nothing can be done by the club he plays for. He wants to leave and RC is triggered, then its bye, bye.
He only signed a new deal in December after only joining them the previous season. If he was that unsettled he could of not signed the new deal and then said at some point I want to leave.

It makes sense for him to sign that contract because it guarantees him future money while still having the option to leave. It is a win win for him. He may very well like playing Newcastle, but an opportunity to play for Pep may be too big an opportunity to pass up. You don't have to hate a place to want to leave.

Jack Grealish signed a new deal the summer before he joined City. It doesn't mean anything and we don't know what Bruno is thinking. He could be very keen on the move and it's all going on behind the scenes for all we know.

Grealish signed an extension in 2020 Sep. and we triggered his Release Clause 9 months later. Does it mean suddenly he was unsettle at Villa, 9 months after signing? Ray, you can not win the RC war. Do not be this guy:

He could still made money without signing the new deal.

I think what has taken time when City trigger release clauses is City trying to negotiate under thd actual full clause.

This Ray fella has to be on a wind up right? Melting my brain.
Yes. Only have to look as far as last year's Gvardiol thread where he mentioned his release clause like a million times. "He's potential only and we can just wait to trigger his release class in 2024."
He obviously knows what a release clause is and how they work

Nope not this time. I am not so sure Newcastle would have agreed the contract extension if they had any real intention in moving him on this summer.

They’re not selling him because they want to though, are they?

They’re selling because they need the money to fund new transfers and they wouldn’t have known their financial situation or the cost to acquire their targets in September when he agree the new deal.

Similarly Bruno doesn’t want to leave Newcastle, he kissed the badge as a celebration about a week ago, always talks up his love for the club and city but he knows they might need to sell him and he can move on to bigger and better.

This is an opportunistic transfer for us.

They’re selling because they need the money to fund new transfers and they wouldn’t have known their precise financial situation or the cost to acquire their targets until the end of the season.
Again they could have not extended his contract and fixed a better fee for themselves this summer.

All the clause does is define a price at which Newcastle are comfortable to sell as it’s above market valuation. Then it is up to the player. I doubt Bruno G would want to move away from Newcastle, barring a handful of elite clubs.
