FA Cup Final - Post Game thread

If there was ever a game to show Pep would actually bomb as a national manager, it's been the game today.

Wrong players, wrong set up and he literally stopped in game change of tactics and positions this season. And all this against the team that plays the type of football that has been our kryptonite. He lost us the game pure and simple, like Lyon or Chelsea.

Such an anti-climax to unexpectedly good season and 90+ points tally considering we never reached quality of the last three years.

Forget about Paqueta or Guimaresh, KdB - Haaland axis or Foden playing in between lines, we need another 1-2 Doku-like minions to break quality teams with this kind of a game plan . Arsenal, Real M and now this lot made us looking so impotent with huge help of Pep.

And he needs to do some serious head-scratching about Haaland over summer, he's been a passenger in this kind of games all season.

The amount this team and management have given us over the past 8/9 years, they can get away with a shite one. You wanna swap with that shite over the road?
 
Most annoying thing is that it was completely avoidable. We let those fuckers off the hook. We should have treated it like another league game that we needed to win. Same team as against West Ham wins easily IMO.

All well and good but, if Erling shoots 2 ft lower and Alvarez scores, as he usually does, we win the game and Pep is a genius. Football is nothing without a bit of jeopardy and, today, we came off second best.
Would I rather be in their position compared to ours? Not in a million fucking years….

Agreed. From a fans perspective.

But the pros don't think like that, especially the foreign players. The champions league winners is the big news all over Europe. The national cups less so. Who won DFB-Pokal or Coppa Italia this year?
 
KDB Rodri Silva Foden Walker Gvardiol Ortega all absolutely fucking dog shit today. we paid hard earned bloody money to go and watch thode over privileged multi millionaires not give a fuck. I mean, they were on for an unprecedented double double and put in a performance like that. WTF? Was they all out on the piss all week? Certainly looked like it. Imagine a boxer in his training programme doing that. And as for Pep pushing the sabotage button yet again in a big final, wtf? Dias and Akanji for several weeks. Then drops them both to bring in Stonesy, who’s not played for two months, and Ake, who’s been suffering with niggling injuries. Both great when they’re fully fit and match ready. But not today. Our defence was shambolic. Reducing Gvardiol and Ortega to look like they’ve never met their team mates before. And with Walker doing his utmost to give away a goal. I’m livid that we’ve lost to the worst utd team in donkeys years. But take nothing away from them today, they fully deserved it with their effort and set up. Kudos. They should hang their heads in shame and pay back all the fans that paid out to travel their today as an apology.
