PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

That's assuming the Prem panel isn't a kangaroo court.
The panel would be crazy to make a dishonest decision. They would be risking their own future careers. City would be forced to go nuclear and could start the ball rolling by brodcasting our "irrefutable evidence" of innocence to the world. It would get very messy.

Only in the opinion of a sports body, not in the real world unless the police or HMRC decide to prosecute. If the Premier league had evidence of fraud they shouldn’t be holding a sporting investigation they should be involving the police and handing over this evidence.
Exactly. They have no evidence of fraud, just bullshit emails that may indicate some shenanigans if interpreted in a certain way. The IC can hand out a severe sporting punishment without ever finding evidence of fraud, but suspecting wrongdoing on a balance of probability.
The Premier League has twenty shareholders, most of them hate us. They want us gone.
I hope Tolmie is right and we are exonerated. At some point we will find out.

It is more a case of how they view the evidence in relation to the balance or probabilities. It doesn't even need to be fraud. Just in built discrimination would suffice.

I hope the outcome will be fair and also that we have acted in good faith. I especially hope that the Prem don't have compelling evidence.
If they had any evidence we'd have been hung drawn and quartered already, so looks like they have 6 e-mails and a Wham-bar.

"Irrefutable evidence"

The stakes are huge let's not kid ourselves.

Who made the rules is irrelevant, however wrong and perverse they are.

But our owner and his Nation's reputation is on the line, guilty and that reputation is destroyed.
The ownership of City is very small beer? The Sheik's reputation would hardly suffer other than within the English gutter media, however would our Government allow the relationship with our owner to be tarnished?

Exactly. If people are no longer willing to do business with you then that is the true metric of reputational damage.

TBH I think the incoming government of whatever stripe will have bigger fish to fry. We have a multi trillion pound economy, any result will be a seven day wonder. The world will move on.
If we had any influence via the current government, which many conspiracy theorists have claimed, the case would have been kicked into touch long ago.
