It's not old news tho is it? It is a hot topical political potato that the last Government effectively did nothing about and this Government will be questioned on.

They exaggerated the issue and then made the asylum system grind to a halt in order to get credit for solving a problem they created.

It's old news. The country decided it wasn't a big issue on July 4th.

I think Rwanda will get over being disrespected while they count their hundreds of millions of pounds given to them by the British taxpayer.

Aside from the salmonella issue, which wasn't acceptable, I never understood what was wrong with this accommodation. I spent quite some time in similar accommodation offshore in my early career. It was fine then and it remains fine for the thousands of British workers who continue to use such facilities in the Oil and Gas industry in UK waters and further afield.

So the question is why do you think it's not good enough for asylum seekers?

I’m fairly sure that the population it can hold has been significantly increased, packing them in like sardines. But, the real reason for closing it down will be the huge cost of the operation and saving the tax payer billions, yes billions of pounds.

It shouldn't be costing billions to moor a boat, now the Tories are gone couldn't they streamline the costs a bit because that's fucking excessive isn't it?

If that is the case, then reducing costs and increasing the efficiencies of this operation should be relatively straight forward?
