That’s a stat for showing the number of goals scored, but it’s not going to tell you how clinical a side were, which is what xG was created for.

Like I said, xG is mostly misinterpreted by people desperate to find a fault with it.

If you think that Liverpool had a 1.5 xG and united 1.52xG in that game and still think it's a stat worth anything at all then i don't know what to tell you.

xG isn’t bollocks, it’s just used poorly by a lot of knock off twitter stat accounts, and what it’s saying is misinterpreted by people (often those with a grudge against it).

It was designed to be used over big sample sizes, not 1 game and when it’s used correctly it is about as good a stat as there is for showing how clinical a side is.

Prefer the old way myself.. with how many goals that ARE scored
Much better than stats that can be skewed..not having a pop at you by the way
