FC United thread

If they had 1229 today and a couple of hundred from Hyde then they already have!
@Mad Eyed Screamer ergh no. A couple of hundred is 200.
1229 minus 200 = ? Come on, you know this, I'll give you a minute to work it out.
Think of it like this, Morrissey sells 1229 tickets for his Wembley gig. Only 200 people show up. How many sensible people stayed at home to watch the grass grow in their back garden ?

Interesting development tonight, their board announce they’ve co-opted a couple of new members on the board, they introduce them and give them a brief biography but the fans aren’t happy as they seem to have forgotten to mention that one of their new board members also happens to be the council’s rep, their head of sport’s & leisure. Perhaps the council are finally starting to protect their investment in them after all?

This is why I have hated the club from the start.
Staylbridge Celtic, Hyde United or any similar club started off at grass roots. Their facilities were basic and only grew as the football club did. Looking at that video shows how the baby rags were supported and part funded by Manchester City Council from the start. No other club has ever got that kind of support.

Cheeky twats have borrowed way over a million quid from the council and defaulted on payments and question why someone representing the council gets to sit on the board without being voted on by members, calling it undemocratic!
What do they call taking out a loan and defaulting on payments? Some might call it fraudulent.....

One other asks if the council rep will be representing the club's interests, the council's interests or both!
How dare the council take an interest in getting their investment back!

That’s one of the most annoying things about this lot. They’ve been handed a set of facilities, for free, that any other club at their level (and the next 2-3 above) would kill for.

Yep
I would bet FCUM are also the worst-run football club in non-league
making losses every year, the local people of Moston hate them,

Big Brother helped them in the summer in allowing them to show the FA Cup final on a big screen hahahaah

A bit late to this, but so glad to see that this bunch of chancers and shysters along with their gullible acolytes have been denied the possible extra income stream of a Cup run. It was truly nauseating to witness the entitlement in the club's early days as its deluded followers made a string of noisy and vehement demands for Council assistance to bolster their fatuous vanity project. We see the leopard's spots truly unchanged as they yelp witlessly at the Council's belated and probably doomed attempt now to safeguard its cash with the appointment referred to above.

Since relegation from National League North in 2019, FCUM have had average attendances of between 1,668 and 1,775 for the four seasons fans were allowed in, a plateauing of gates that seems to be allowing them to continue to crawl along provided that the Council continues to be so untenably benevolent with regard to the debt owed by these charlatans. I longingly await the news that the support is seeping away in numbers that will cause serious cashflow problems. One or two signs in the new campaign suggest that this could be the case, but there have been false dawns before.

We just need some of the people currently operating in line with the sunk costs fallcy to see the bigger picture. They don't want to admit that the vision they were originally sold by Walsh and his mates was an unattainable mirage, with the current grubby reality instead being that they're stuck in relative obscurity while remaining in denial over their shabby scrounging from the public purse. Hopefully this is the point where more of them see sense and walk away.

It's a critical time for the Splitters.
If their current average crowd for this season is under 1,500, where are they going to gain the c.500 plus, needed to break even, let alone pay back what's owed to Mcr. City Council ?
Cannot see many/any "new" fans supporting them, or new sponsors paying out to advertise with them ?
As the Trafford Tramps are now run by Scruffy Jim, cannot see their loyal fans, jumping ship.
Perhaps the only solution, would be to ground share with another Mancunian non-league club ?
Abbey Hey are probably the nearest ?
Would be interesting if West Didsbury & Chorlton re-located there ?
They may get bigger gates than FCUM...

Why would any self-respecting club want to be associated with them?
