Edit: his own website says it was "their own business fitting fireplaces around their kitchen table". Now I'm amazed that someone educated at a fee-paying grammar school should be so grammatically inept as to write something that might suggest they installed fireplaces all round their kitchen table. Be that as it may, they obviously did better than my dad who set up a business on All Saints fitting tiled fireplaces (in homes) just as people were ripping them out to install smokeless fuel fires.

Is this not also because European countries offered relief on VAT for energy during the peak of the energy crisis?

France has a reduced rate of 5.5% on energy. Germany has just increased VAT from 7% to 19% for energy this year.

Meanwhile the UK has done nothing and 20% of your energy bill has always gone to the taxman.

Not at all. You lot trying to defend the indefensible is what's going on here.

This is not about Cameron, or the Tories. It's about Starmer, a sanctimonious hypocrite who has spent years criticizing others for doing what he's been doing - and continues to do - all along. That you cannot bring yourself to admit it and say "yeah, fair enough" is pretty sad IMO.

I have ZERO problem in criticizing all sorts of things the Tories did, because I am not up their arse.

Thats why its active - the 4 way bun fight and ever more zany philosophies will make their conference hilarious - promises to be like a Nurnberg Rally set in a Comedy Store whilst desperate R/W hacks will be claiming when he snapped them James Timpson gifted Starmer a pair of shoe laces ( probably rainbow ones ) which were not declared
