cool. lets get Fernandinho back to replace rodri in that case.
Yes,like thats the same thing. Heres a prediction Fern isn’t coming back. Ederson is here for as long as Pep is, and we should be grateful for it, most sensible fans are.

it was a joke and the point was fernandinho is past it despite being a great player

Ederson was a brilliant keeper for us when we were getting pressed to death and we were doing seat of the pants tiki taka in our own box but the top teams know not to do that against anymore. so we just end up with a frankly below average shot stopper in net for when he is needed

Still joking I see, at least I hop so if you think a ball playing keep isn't an impotant part of how we play still.

whatever you think it is we do at thr back in terms of passing Ortega is fully capabale.

Looking forward to another Ederson performance today where he doesnt move his feet at shots and crosses (like last week when he didnt jump for either goal)

Whatever I think is the same as whatever you think of no relevence. Pep thinks Ederson is superior, think what you or I know is insignificant.Ortega is nowhere near, IMO seems Peps opinion matches mine here

does anyone think David Ray saves that first goal (jumping would have helped and not weighing about 17 stone)

or comes better for the crosses at the corners?

just interested why people are defending our fat keeper who cant jump and saves nothing that isnt fired directly at him
No

Sniff

Ederson comes out quickly to try to get the ball if he held off let him get the ball the angle is that fine doubt he would score

What is Ederson's record at saving penalties now, given as a percentage? And not counting shootouts. It seems like it can't be much higher than single figures. You never feel like he's going to save one.
Most keepers don't save penalties. Hope that helps.

He had a fine game tbh. That was a soft penalty. Had a really nice save in the first half and the back heel pass got everyone excited. Not the best as penalities. It is what it is.

Agreed. But some keepers seem to have an okay record at them. That guy who played for Newcastle (can't remember his name, sorry; was he Czech?). And Paul Cooper back in prehistoric times. Martinez, at Villa. Coton, back in the day? It can't be just down to luck (though it does play a part, obviously).

I would like to see the stats of penalties conceded by goalkeepers. I feel like he gives away loads more than anyone else when he rushes out needlessly.

Thought he had a bad one today. Made that good save in the first half but was far too relaxed with the ball and invited all sorts of pressure. Then gave the penalty away by lunging out when simply guiding Gordon wide would have been enough.

Bravo is statistically top 10 maybe even higher I believe but I wouldn't want him in goal!
