Looked much better when moved to the middle. Would pick him there ahead of Gundogan at this moment
He is the least creative of our offensive players. Savinho, KDB, Foden, Grealish and Gundogan all have better passing and better shooting (except Grealish) than Bernardo. The last year from him has been extremely underwhelming.Thought he had the winner in extra time. I think he needs to be one of the pivot players just to add some creativity.
Creativity in buildup is different than creativity in the final 3rd. That's why I'd rather he play in the pivot. He is the least creative of our offensive players. Even then, Lewis, Rodri, Foden and Gundogan are superior. They can break the line easily with movement, a quick 1-2 and a quick pass. Bernardo can't. If you want creativity, Bernardo hasn't been the answer for the last year. If it wasn't for his work rate and superb positioning, he is offering barely anything.Creativity in buildup is different than creativity in the final 3rd. That's why I'd rather he play in the pivot.
Bernardo has had no consistency for well over a year. Has good games. Has great games. Does not string them together.I'll say it, because no one says it. The least threatening offensive player for the last year. I bsrely remember the last time he was able to dribble someone going forward.
People criticize Grealish, when Bernardo as a winger doesn't produce a 10% of what Grealish produces. Having Savinho on the bench for him is crazy with this being his level for a while now.
I disagree completely. Firstly, Rodri is out for the year so that's irrelevant to now. Bernardo hasn't been at his best the past year or so but his passing range is better than any of our healthy midfielders bar Gundo. His ball retention rate is higher than any of our healthy midfielders and I'm pretty sure he's 2nd behind Kevin in chances created so far for us in the prem.Even then, Lewis, Rodri, Foden and Gundogan are superior. Agree to a point about actual creativity but he offers a lot when central. He can knit things together as well as anyone. Add to the fact when he’s out wide we lose a lot of creativity by not having a natural winger i think he should be starting centrally most weeks without Rodri.Even then, Lewis, Rodri, Foden and Gundogan are superior. He started the season exceptionally well, though. He had a bad game, but most of the comments in here feel wildly over the top.Bernie is like this most years - when it comes to the business end of the season he will go up another 2 or 3 gears. A bit wasted out wide and didn't get the ball enough in the first half but I have no concerns he will be amazing for us later in the year.
