Anyone been scammed...

Had this one by text yesterday, I don't drive and couldn't park a decent argument if I tried :)

The scam to the best of my knowledge is that you call the number at the top of the text message and they charge you a fortune because it's a premium line, vile bastards. (I have omitted some of the numbers for safety reasons.
The date format is an instant giveaway

The number is a standard mobile number but they could dupe you into calling another number from it or pressing a number to redirect to a premium line. As has been said the link is the imminent danger but for the benefit of others (as I am sure you already know), never click links in a text message even if it has come from a company you deal with, especially banks.

People can forward suspected text scams to 7726 (OFCOM) as detailed here …

I like the “If you have any objection to the penalty charge notice, you can appeal after paying the fee” line - cheeky fuckers!!

But the real giveaway is you can not appeal the pcn if you pay first as you have admitted liability to the offence, therefore right of appeal is negated:

Not so far ..... but for the last couple of weeks I've been getting dodgy phone calls containing recorded messages that claim to be from the 'immigration bureau' , on three different mobile numbers, all of which attempted to give me some 'instructions' to follow ..... i smelt a rat and just cut the fkers right off !

I've only been in the country for the past 67 years, lol!
I've had several exactly the same

Not online or phone scams but I've had three attempts at taking out a credit card in my name.
One attempt failed, the other two led to losses of around £6,000. One was covered by the credit card company and I only knew about it when I received a statement showing all the purchases; the total was reduced to zero with the word "fraud" added. The other was an inside job at the credit card company and was resolved with a couple of phone calls and some industrial language.
PS Never prove an in-house fraud problem to a financial institution as they get quite upset.

I got the attached so replied very politely, funnily enough I didn't get a reply back.

I keep getting those, not that I'd call them anyway but I have a zero spend cap on my O2 sim so wouldn't be able to connect. I keep getting constant emails about my non-existent telegram account as well, not that I know what that is.

Had a knock at the door this afternoon - a lad in his early twenties says I have come to collect the guitar. Seeing my puzzled face he says, you know off Facebook marketplace. When I said you have the wrong house he seemed surprised.

Half an hour passes and another knock at the door. Same guy - says to me, are you sure you do not have the guitar.

No idea what he had paid but had clearly been given the wrong address.

I had one a few weeks back.
I had a Audi SQ5 space saver wheel on ebay. Pick up only etc.
I had someone contact me directly and offered full price and he would bank transfer another £50 on top if i would ship it to him.
I refused saying i didn't want to wait in for a courier or have to wrap it up etc. So he would have to pick it up.
He replied that he didn't drive and had no car at the moment!

Safe to say he was blocked.

How much did you get for it this time ?

I’ve been getting calls for weeks from an 020 number .. I’ve just ignored them and blocked them after a quick Google search to see what comes up..

You have to be so careful nowadays
