That is horrible, I was rooting for her during the Paris Marathon. RIP.
However, when I lived in Uganda, I used to run early in the morning, road sweepers (literally ladies brushing the roads) used to wear tabards with government backed statements on, the one that really stuck with me was "Rape is not your right". Unfortunately the view on women when I was there was that they are secondary and men could do what they wanted to them (hence having to display these messages). This is completely at odds with how religious they are, very strange.

I thought Tebogo was brilliant again, almost like he let Bednarek go to chase him down.

Looking forward to this 1500m.

Naguse takes it, Ingebritsen couldn't hold on again.

Kerr and Hocker miles off of it, don't think the break helped Kerr and Hocker well, we knew he wouldn't repeat that final performance.

The sovereignty of the person and the sanctity of life are features of very few religions. Very western post enlightenment.
In US, Maga adherents believe in the sanctity of life, ie no abortion allowed, but have called for the return of the death penalty where it has been abolished. R….ight.

Chicago Marathon today, on Eurosport 1, think the women's pacer is pacing a World Record attempt.

Chepngetich is flying in the women's race. Broke the 20km world record for the first 20km of the marathon.

Will smash the marathon WR if she keeps this up.

First women in history under 2 hours 10 minutes, destroyed the old world record.

She's still running and striding out afterwards to celebrate, unbelievable.

Shouldn't be the way we think but it's so quick it'll almost certainly raise a few eyebrows. She looks like she hasn't broke a sweat at the end.

I’m glad to see it’s also leading to some action. Let’s see how much publicity this gets (I won’t hold my breath) …

Second fastest U18 at age 15? WOW!
Clearly, her talent was identified early:

Finished 3rd in the UK indoor championships today, in a strong field of senior GB athletes

Still just 16, going to be a star.

There's been some good performances, Georgia Hunter-Bell was class.

Top performances from Anning, Mills and Gourley.

A big shout out to Otis Poole who I'd never heard of before who won the mens high jump aged just 17, increasing his pb by 11cm

All on the iPlayer or YouTube, BritishAthleticsTV channel for anyone interested.

Caught up on the weekends stuff tonight.

Really solid middle distance running in this country at the moment. As you say Anning, Mills and Bell look really solid at the moment. Big chances of winning the European indoors (harder for Mills with Jacob and Kerr if they show up) and chances of medals at the world's.

The middle/long distance strength falls in line with running in general in this country at the moment, as a hobby I've never seen it so popular as it is now.

Just catching up on today’s action from the morning session. Gutted for Anning; she looked so good.

An awful officiating decision on the 800m heats with Randolph getting eliminated when he was the one repeatedly pushed in the back by the Swiss athlete - who incidentally looked suspiciously pumped up and aggressive for me, both during the race and the way he was acting at the end.

The officiating in that 800m was a joke. The Swiss athlete should have been sent packing.

Gutted for Anning, she'd have won that heat comfortably regardless. Final might have been tough as Klaver is looking good.
