I love the Romans - straight roads, baths, toilets, aqueducts, forts etc. Wish I had been able to do Latin at school, unfortunately the year we were streamed I had done extremely well I'm my science exams, so got put in science group, hated it. Really felt I missed out on the language front. I mean I even enjoyed Mass in Latin.....!

Wouldn't like to have been around though when the Romans were here.

I did read somewhere that most of the Roman 'footsoldiers' who first arrived were of Germanic origin, the generals etc were the actual Romans.

You are luckier than you think. I took Latin and it was a nightmare. How can “I give” be “do” in Latin (seems easy enough) but “we used to give” is “dabamus”. Apart from then”d” there is no similarity. Try reading Latin, it’s impossible. No bloody wonder they controlled the world anyone that could speak Latin was too clever by half

Weird some of the choices we were subjected to. In our second year we were offered the choice of Tech Drawing or Spanish which, even to a 12 year old, seemed a strange pairing. I went for Tech Drawing but, because I’d somehow managed to make it into the top 10 in French, was told emphatically that my options were Spanish or Spanish!

Since the news broke on the APT looks like the Media are going back to plan B.
* Mendy and his sex parties
* Pep leaving
* Pep managing England
* Erling off to Barca

At least we can amuse ourselves with a ditty if Amorim eventually takes over from Pep.
“ That's Amorim” by Dean Martin”

Trivia…. Frank Lampard has an A level in Latin.
