Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

When Pep goes every long term fan (not the social media gimps and tourists) will know a title every year or even a trophy will not be as guarented as the last 8 years have been and I don't believe many expect us to dominate as muchcas we have amd also not get like the rags, chelsea or arse if we take a season or two to readjust.

I dom't expect us to be top dogs every season after the Pep era, as long as we entertain, try our best and compete to the end then you canmot ask for more.

Trophies are always a bonus not a right

I would much prefer that Pep stays and his record speaks for itself….we certainly have been blessed.

However, I can’t say that at times he hasn’t frustrated me (as would any manager)…if unfortunately Pep goes I’m looking forward to maybe a younger manager who combines the best of Pep but who also gives more of a chance to some of the homegrown youngsters (McAtee, Bobb and I would loved Palmer to have stayed) and we have some brilliant youngsters in the youth teams.

I have no idea about idea about the Portuguese manager we are being linked to but trust in the management and look forward to a little refresh on the pitch that an influx of younger players can bring.

We are not going away….we can’t win the league every year but pretty sure we will always be in contention.

The future is bright… with or without Pep.

With a few players reaching a certain age and will need replacing I don’t think Pep would leave us in a certain situation where it’s not a smooth transition. You only have to look at whiskey nose to see what he left behind and the following manager was on a hiding to nothing. I know we are in the same place as them but Pep will leave us stronger when he decides to go. Sign that 2 year contract baldy mate.

? Do we think it'll be that? Doubt it, myself. I could see a one-year contract being offered, which would suit both parties. That way, Pep will feel he's done his best to smooth the path to the transition. I also think he may feel he's got slightly unfinished business, with the new generation of Bobb, Rico, and maybe McAtee bedding in. Wouldn't matter to me if he did or didn't get us another trophy in that final season. It would be all about preparing the after-Pep as best everyone can.

Pep’s remit from Mansour is to QUALIFY FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE EVERY SEASON!

The CL, in conjunction with the TV Rights income and transfer fees, are what not only bring in the significant revenues, but are leveraged in every commercial contract in which the Club engages. Having your shirt logo in front of millions (billions) of people across the globe is a very marketable position to be on!!!

ANYTHING beyond CL Qualification is a luxury, as it provides halo silverware to add to the exposure the club receives from being in the CL.

If Pep were to remain for another year. Would it be feasible for his replacement, to join him and start the rebuild together. Not sure if Amorim will be that man, but I’m sure he’d except the role knowing he’d be in charge when Pep leaves

Not true at all. The club expect silverware, and consistently competing for multiple trophies. They have said so many many times.

The new club World Cup doesn’t finish until mid July. He’s not going to walk before that in May leaving us in a hole before the tournament or after it, in a hole with the season about to start a month later. I expect him to sign a one year extension talking us to May 2026 and a full decade in charge of the boys in blue. Thank you and good night. Amorim to take over that summer and link back up with Viana, unless something unforeseen happens in the interim (can happen, this is football). Logical thought-out succession planning.

If I was a betting man, I would wager that Pep signs a 1 year extension, then takes a year sabbatical to spend some much needed time with his wife and family, 9 years Is a long time to be practically separated apart in different Countries, their marriage must be really strong, what ever he decides, I will forever be grateful for all he has done at City.

I also think pep signs a one year extension then leaves in 2026 and takes the England job (unless tuchel wins the World Cup) until World Cup 2030. It’s pretty apparent the England job appeals to pep and the stars seem to be aligning given tuchel’s contract and peps time at city coming to an end.

Apparent based on what?

People were saying this exact thing for Argentina and Brazil as well not that long ago. There has been absolutely nothing meaningful said that makes it 'appparent, that hasn'tbeen said before that fits any given top national side.

The fact the media asked him outright if he had any contact with the fa and pep swerved the question and didn’t answer which makes me think there was conversations had between the pair.

He also went on to say he wants to manage an international side one day. He won’t do Spain so that realistically leaves very few nations and with tuchels short contract it seems to make perfect sense. Just my opinion

Really hope he never manages England ,just because i don't like England national team at all and never will ,but thats my problem.
