Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Nothing is written in stone , and players and clubs adapt , a manager arriving at a football club signing a four year deal like Pep has does not dictate our playing style for years to come , Allegri or Simeone would no doubt change some aspects of our play , but wouldnt be stupid enough to make wholesale changes , they are experienced managers and winners who would take the best of Pep's tactics and supplement that with their own style of play
One thing is certain Brenda will never coach City , anybody who thinks he is the answer is in fantasy land.
Haha

I very, very much want Pep to extend his contract with our side. He's the best manager in world football IMO.
===
And yet, there's a pattern - Pep is signed to a multi-year contract with a top side and achieves success. The club wants Pep to sign an extension. Pep demurs - without actually rejecting the possibility of staying on.

Finally Pep's contract nears an end - at which point he announces that he's not taking the extension.

Pep then spends a quiet off year before accepting an offer at a top club.
===
Which is to say - there's a pattern in Pep's behavior - should the pattern continue - he won't be our manager next season... which is what I think will happen... however much I wish that this were not so.
He has been with us longer than anywhere else he has already broken the pattern

Did you have another user name ?

In terms of longevity at our club - yes.

The reluctance to sign an extension is, unfortunately, part of the pattern.

Hell, this is just my opinion - worth nothing at all...

I've tried to find betting odds on this - as I tend to view those with money on the line as far more knowledgeable than I. I'm in the USA and search results may be off because we're unable to legally bet in certain cases.

Are there bets posted by a major outlet on whether or not Pep will be our manager next year? If so, what are the odds?

Barca (first team) and Bayern - are twice in a row by my count. Small sample size... and perhaps dead wrong, I hope.

At the same time - do you think he'd lost the confidence of Barca players or Bayern players - or that he lost the confidence of Barca or Bayern management?

I simply think that it's a mixture of burnout and a desire to pursue new challenges.
He only left Barca and took a year out. With Bayern it was made clear months before he left he was’t renewing and he came straight to us, which was pretty much tied up before he left Bayern. So two entirely different situations and not a pattern.
There is no suggestion he is looking elsewhere nor is burntout,and nothing he has said suggests he wants to leave. Only that he believes he has to earn any extension. I’d be very surprised if he isn’t our manager next season.

I very much hope you're correct. It seems to me that our side is 100% behind Pep.

He is not re!uctant as such, he wants to see if the team are still responding to him , the is not past pattern here as he has broken it , he is also here with his mates and has total control, no politics , all bets are off

Yes you've exactly expressed Pep's stated reluctance.

Still... no bets offered by major outlets on whether or not Pep extends his contract with us?
