Manchester still comes under the boundaries of Lancashire.

Manchester is in Lancashire and Greater Manchester. It was removed from the administrative county of Lancashire in 1974, however the act makes clear the traditional county boundaries still remain. So whilst Manchester is in the ceremonial county of Greater Manchester it is also in the historic county of Lancashire.
Yes, but Newton Heath was a separate township in Lancashire. Originally wasn’t part of Manchester.

The district was incorporated into the city of Manchester in 1890. Newton Heath is in the parliamentary constituency of Manchester Central alongside Manchester city centre, Hulme, Beswick, Clayton, Openshaw and Moss Side.

But still in Lancashire mate, we're all Lancastrians really ;)
Eh, who said it wasnt? The post was in response to somebody asking if Newton Heath wasn’t part of Manchester originally, where was it part of? The answer was Lancashire as it didn’t become part of Manchester until 1890.

I think the key point being made is that the rags were not formed within the boundaries of Manchester and have a weak claim to using the name of the city as they do. They spent 12 years as Newton Heath (a Lancashire team), then 12 years as Newton Heath (a Manchester within Lancashire team), then 8 years as they are currently named (a Manchester/Lancashire team) and since then 114 years as a Trafford/Lancashire team.

Garnacho equaliser yesterday brought an immediate rendition of why don't City fuck off home lol
Oh f**k - did someone see me? So I was at the swamp in (freebie) corporate on Saturday - me and two other City fans sat on a row amongst other rag prawn-sandwich munchers - when Garnacho ballooned over the goal in the first half we three were the only ones in the whole row not to jump up in expectation of a goal! Cue, accusative looks from someone sat next to me. I didn't come out second half. But don't worry I'm cleansed now, went to Wolves away yesterday, great day out!
