Injury aside, had a good game but faded as it went on. Really impressed me with his confidence to run van de ven, he knows he's not doing him for pace, but still made him work to let him know he's going to have to worry about him in behind all game and got rewarded for his bravery with his unfortunate injury. After a lively start, felt like that was the turning point for him and he'd rinse his replacement but somehow never seemed as dangerous against a poorer defender as he did in the first 15 minutes. Great assist, that's what we need much more of from him.

Peps comments on his injury tally with what I thought I saw too. The delay in any reaction and then subsequent apparent major distress he was in suggest impact injury to a know nothing like myself. muscle or ligaments you'll feel straight away, if it's a knock on his ankle the odd reaction makes far more sense than anything else, thats something where the pain could intensify shortly after the incident to explain the reaction. If that's the case, despite being stretchered off which automatically makes us assume the worst, it could just as easily be nothing.

fingers crossed.

Incredible talent this lad. He only recently turned 20, yet he looks world-class every time he plays for us from day 1, in a new league, new country, not knowing the language well yet. He is easily one of the most talented young players in the world. I hope he can shake off his injury woes, though, because it's a bit of a concern.

I think he hurt himself getting up after the blocked cross - Spurs (like united) have a stupid big slope down around the pitch and I expect his weight wasn't quite balanced right to counter it.

Have always thought those slopes were dangerous - united have an excuse in that their whole stadium is knackered and in need of knocking down, but Spurs shouldn't have built one like this.

Really hoping it isn't anything overtly serious because he looked really distressed.

Good assist though. Happy to see him have more confidence in his weaker foot.

Good that it's not serious but we really need him at the moment. A real lack of creativity without him, KDB, Doku, Grealish, etc.
Be interesting to see who gets his spot tomorrow. Most likely Bernardo or Phil pushed wider. I' wouldnt mind switching McAtee there and leave the older guys inside but imagine Pep will take the proven option.

They make them soft in Brazil don't they!

Thought at the time it was odd as he hobbled on it before then going down and being carried off! I know that can happen but clearly just a really sore one initially that should ease off.

One little kick to it this weekend will have him off again though so would guess it's the bench at best and try and give it a week or so to heal.
