Vat on Independent school fees?

I assume that's what Gillian Keegan was spouting on about earlier. I wonder how her family is doing bearing in mind her husband was the boss of Fujitsu of Horizon scandal fame. He then became a representative of the cabinet office before he resigned. But I'm sure she'll get by in one of the 4 houses they own!
 
I don’t really know enough about school fees but I would say the only unfair bit is imposing it if the child is all ready at the school. What they should’ve done is said from September 2025 VAT will be on any new entries. Some people aren’t mega rich and finding another 20% could be nigh on impossible, it’s only the child that will suffer.

yeah its a fucking joke - all those bleating about this are angry because after years of getting away with it they are being asked to pay their fair share - think pvte schools and farmers amongst others. It a reckoning they never thought would come - this is levelling up but not what Johnson promised them - I'll say it again farming will be dropped like fishing once it has served a purpose pvte schools probably not because of who it affects. I for one am pretty happy that my taxes won't be going to subsidise a Rees-Mogg jnr or a Johnson Bastard to attend Eton and believe me neither of them will be scrimping and saving to send their off spring there

It’s horrible politics anyway but this would be better. Anyone not already doing GCSE’s or A levels should be ring fenced. Effective 2027 give them chance to make a choice.

I binned the Cup Schemes and away games this season and cancelled all the regular charitable donations, good luck to those poor animals and people with cancer, but at least I'll be about £700 up by the rest of the season.

The most sensible quote about what class war is or isn't being waged in the modern era was made by Warren Buffett, must be close to 20 years ago now and it's still the case.
 
I’ve just put my oldest girl in private, the other one is going in 2 years, first has just started reception, they can stick it up 100% for all I care, I’ll still pay it.

I’ll tell them to leave the country, just like all my siblings have (two doctors) and my parents, and I’ll join them once they’re educated and pick a place.

This whole country is a shit show.

I can see where you are coming from; good enough fir you and your kind to get an education but not good enough to live. Only one thing to say - why not f..k off now? You and your kind will not be missed.

Was born here, so were my parents, their parents and theirs as far as we’ve been back, so eat a bag of dicks.

I’m pretty sure we will be missed. You’re the sort of idiot who complains when the migrants come in and the best leave, then complain about Dr. Singh.

I’ll be out as soon as I’m ready, FWIW I was privately educated too. We’d be in Dubai already but the Dad of the step kids won’t have it, funny thing is, he’s an illegal immigrant and doesn’t pay a penny for them, or any tax.

I’ll miss City and that’s it.
