I do just because in the past his extensions have been around this time doesn't mean it will be this timeAnyone still think this goes beyond the break?

I get what you are saying, but I tend not to base my opinion on optics.Hmmm - I think they have to be - if only for the optics.
Get the book thrown at us - and he leaves and his statements about staying more than ever and getting Dikov back look hollow.
Stay and he's got a hell of a task on, when he could still walk into a top job anywhere.
Get exonerated and he may leave as there are no leaving us in the lurch pressures to stay. Alternatively he could stay to have a clear run at things and to celebrate.
Anyone's guess.
Yeah me tooI do just because in the past his extensions have been around this time doesn't mean it will be this time
Yes. Enjoying the work and bringing things he has already started into some sort of a fruition is always a very important factor. As well as the circumstances under which a manager (especially of his stature) leaves the club. And it is in respect to those things that the nature of his relations with the club/backroom/owners come into play. Things such as:I can understand that Pep is undecided, at least publicly, but part of me thinks he sees another challenge to get replacements for Kyle, Kev etc. and see the kids get established. In some ways he can’t quit if we don’t win a trophy this season, without losing face. He hasn’t changed or lost it, but we have a lot of unfit and injured defensive players and no cover for Haaland. Small squad costing us.
say a bit more about that mate. Why would it not be sustainable and secure now? I can understand why he would delay a 'I'm leaving' announcement but a renewal confirmation can only give stability and confidence surely?it is just a case of doing it at the right time and when he and the club are comfortable that it is sustainable and secure.
Which in a way would put some relevance on the outcome I suppose.I get what you are saying, but I tend not to base my opinion on optics.
I would find it easier to believe that Pep has already decided he wants to leave and has had enough, and the club know it. But that we can't meaningfully get anyone to follow till the charges are resolved. And that he is leaving it open for a one year extension to cover any delays in that to be here for the club till that is concluded. Than any of the above, for example. IF we were trying to link the two.
Not that that is what I think either, for the record.
I think he wants to and will stay, regardless of the outcome, and it is just a case of doing it at the right time and when he and the club are comfortable that it is sustainable and secure.
I take both him and Khaldoon at their word quite literally on that one.
I'm sure he will leave but not without another Premier League title or Champions League in his clutches.I think he will leave. He has done enough imo. He might need a refresh after all these years.
Ross Geller likes this.Pep gone on a break according to Tolmie.

What’s things? In my opinion I think that at this time it is particularly important for Man City supporters to show a great deal of personal support for Pep if they actually want him to stay. Because there are things happening in the background nobody knows about. And those things are not easy for Pep.

I still think if we don’t hear this break then he has hasn’t decidedA case of leaving it as late as possible to feel comfortable there is no burnout or his ways and intensity having run their course. And the players are still into it and motivated by it.
Ten Hag and Arteta both signed extesions not that long ago, prior to the season starting. Both have struggled to get their pre-summer highs back. Klopp signed his for a while, then around this time decided he (or maybe his team) have had enough. Guess Pep and the club don't want that, he wants to honour his contracts as do the club, and after 9 years of pure intensity, they both want to see how things are going rather than commiting at the end of a summer high. In as far as reasonable practical to predict.
Pretty much exactly what both have been saying to us.
What would, the 115? As above I meant without it, which would be the case whenever he was renewing, with or without the 115. As it was the last two times he renewed.
And if that is the case, the club will be comfortable with it.I still think if we don’t hear this break then he has hasn’t decided
Plenty evidence of burnout but to be fair I think that is the consequence of the last few seasons and the numbers of games. The spine of the team have spent a lot of years with the man and I would hope that they are beyond the 'he's too intense' barrier. I actually think he is not going to renew. Sure hope I'm wrong.A case of leaving it as late as possible to feel comfortable there is no burnout or his ways and intensity having run their course.
