I agree he was one of our better players last night. And things went to shit once he left...

But even the above is a bit false. Because he was better than many who were worse. But his slow, turgid '6 touches before a pass' style was a big part of why we looked toothless going forward. He and Bernardo being the biggest culprits of this growing problem in our play


But the sad part is when they both tried to move the ball quicker ( Bernado more in this game and Gundo more in the past) they often lost possession more. Suggesting, both seem to be past their prime and have regressed as such in their abilities to diagnose quickly and execute at a high level.

So to hide that regression in their ability, they are predominantly very cautious with the ball and play slower. Which means we keep possession longer, but create even fewer opportunities. :(


I must say, I wasn't one of those who was happy about our interest in reuniting... But, I wished hard that I was wrong in not wanting him back. :(

Gundo isn't a 6, never has been. Play him there and he's shit.

IMO Gundo still has class enough to start - trouble is, we have no 6. Even Kovacic isn't a true 6. Rodri out is killing us and we have zero backup.

Try and get some fitness back and start to utlise Nunes more and we can take some of the heat off Gundo. A new signing won't improve things at this stage of the season that much either without Rodri

Would prefer Nunes at the 6 - but Nunes has not impressed at all so this is probably a band-aid temporary attempted fix at best - which however it works out is almost certainly better than Gundo at 6.

Saves us going into the January window and he has shown he is capable. Going forward under Viana's watch maybe not (although he has had worked closely with Nunes when both were at Sporting Lisbon)

I don't rate Nunes at all. I could be wrong. But however bad the January window is, if we can get a decent defensive midfielder I think we need to sign him.

I know you don't but he is still a very useful player to have. He does that extra bit of pace and energy that we are currently lacking. And seeing we didn't sign anyone other than Gundo last summer, I doubt we are going to change a habit of a life time and sign anyone of note mid-season.

We've a lot of players that Pep is currently trying to turn into better players, we have too many nearly finished items and it affects the team.

Kidna feel for him, everyone but Pep knows he hasn't got legs and then Pep plays him in the engine room against the most physical and athletic team in the league
