Not that...

I’ve been a City supporter since 1962, there is nothing like a crisis to get fans stirred up, and this, believe me, is nothing like a crisis.
Oh it is, just because it isn't like the 90s or previous times doesn't make it not a crisis. Call it a modern day crisis if you will. The fun part is getting out of it

This was always going to be a difficult season, but it has been made even harder with all the injuries, especially Rodri. I'm not happy about our current predicament, but after 4 PL titles on the trot I can accept an off season.

After 4 titles on the trot it's not unreasonable to EXPECT an "off season" rather than accept. I was ecstatic when we finallly won the title in 2012 and everything since has just been a massive bonus. Not winning the title isn't the same as having an off season, I suppose winning no trophies could be called that. We'll be back 8-)

I don't think we will win the League, but I still expect us to get top 4 despite recent results. Hopefully we can bring in a midfield player in January and then refresh the squad next Summer.

Well i'm very arsed, we've thrown away a history making 4 years of work within 3 months and all because of a piss poor transfer strategy that saw us handicap ourselves massively for no real reason. We had lots of money to spend, available spots in the squad, there was no viable reason to gamble on having such a small squad that was aging and injury prone.

Its actually made worse by the fact that it's probably the weakest the league has been since Peps arrival. Arsenal aren't as impressive as they previously were. Dippers aren't a patch on the side they once were, a very average looking dipper side looks like running away with the title. We could have dropped a level and still comfoetabky won this league for a record 5th time if we hadn't fallen off a cliff largely due to our own doing.

Personally, I don't know how any city fan can say they're not arsed about that. I don't need us to have a down year to appreciate what we've done prior, I don't need to look back to my childhood when the dream was to get back into the premier league and then to just not get battered on derby day to appreciate where we are now. This won't be forever, whilst we've got the greatest manager there's ever been, I want and expect us to not take liberties and give him absolutely everything and greedily get as much success as possible.

The only thing I will admit is that there is a slight sense of relief about not having that relentless need to win every single game for the rest of the season. Although we may yet end up in the same pressured situation just to save champions league football.

What year did you become a City fan ??

Before the money, I’m mid forties and watched some challenging football whilst over the road cleaned up.

I supported City from young and went to a few games each season, TBH I was more bothered about playing and my Dad took me to games when he could.

Since I have stopped playing and City have got very, very good. I have cared, cared a lot, been stressed, anxious, ecastic, happy etc. I have watched pretty much 6 very close title runs with so little margin for error and thinking law of averages we can’t keep winning. I was Spurs away last season, didn’t see Son’s miss as I was sat on my seat whilst everyone was stood around as I couldn’t watch the last 10. So I do get emotionally involved and have been very arsed.

I am ST for last 4 years, go to the odd away game and really enjoy taking my Son. Never miss a game unless it is really unavoidable home & away (TV, stream).

I’m not one for whose biggest fan etc and the not arsed was more a reference to if we don’t win anything this year, I ain’t complaining we’ve had it so good.

All of us are different and everyone welcome to their views and I’m interested in getting others, hence the thread.

On a final note, I trust in Pep etc. But regardless of that I trust more in Khaldoon. I think as long as we have him we will be there or thereabouts more often then not.

Forums, especially post result, give everyone the chance to let off steam, celebrate, commiserate, annihilate. Be fickle, irrationally blame or lambast. It’s part of the fun.

Imagine reading some of this stuff back in a few months. Was it a bad transfer policy or was it a bad transfer window? Were we protecting the club if we’re at the mercy of others with the charges? Or was it players wouldn’t commit? Or was it Pep wouldn’t and we weren’t going to sign players another manager might not want? Was Haaland being jokey with Salah or was he accepting he’d been outdone - he was in his face for the whole time he prepped for the pen ( sometimes a ‘fair fucks’ smile feels ok to me) Oscar Bobb has become a missing key link despite never being near the team, while Lewis has had such a long run of games he’s virtually played himself out of the team. KDB is leaving, or his injury is career over or he’s playing mind games for a contract and Pep is mad for leaving out Doku who many didn't want in the team months ago in front of Jack, who many wanted out but now can’t believe isn’t in. A month ago the debate was Gvardiol would be wasted at centre half and is key to our shape at left back but now should immediately be played in the position we bought him for. Which really means the position he played in, given Pep always saw him as LB.

Hindsight is always right. That’s why no matter what happens amidst the offloads we do as fans, what we’ve achieved since 2010/11 is without debate. Just factually record breaking and I suspect a lot more’s to come. It’s great to be blue.

Very well wrote sir…

Everything’s easy hindsight and forums give us our say (for no other reason then we like to have it).

The reality is half the time we probably struggle to know what Pep is thinking anyway nor are we privy to certain data.

Quite often takes a player of as the science indicate they are high risk of an injury and well turn round and say wouldn’t have took him off.

But it is what it is and we enjoy it.

I’m sure there is a well known saying about opinion and ar$eholes, everyone has one
