Shay Given was going on last night about what a waste of talent Grealish is stuck out on the left just retaining the ball. Have to say i completely agree with him. Hopefully now is the time we finally see him as a left sided 8. Frankly i’d be astonished if he can’t offer more than Gundo and Rico at the moment.

I genuinely think he has more potential for us in the middle, but part of this is him accepting that he's supposed to be more for us than he is currently. Give him the keys to the machine and see how he handles it. Watched him at the Feyenoord game and he just seemed so passive and almost reluctant to try and impact the game.

Yeah I had to take a second on that one. He's a really good player, but KDB is a generational talent. Jack Grealish is not in KDBs orbit.

I have thought for a while he could do a job centrally, mainly because he was more central at villa.

Make or break though, you can't be as unavailable as him for the last two years and keep your place.

I think you've got to take the hyperbole of the wording with a pinch of salt - Given is a former teammate of his and presumably a friend, it's easy to get carried away when defending a mate. Especially considering that when they were both in the Villa first team, Given was in his 30s and Jack was a teenager.

I like Grealish. He’s decent, but he can’t stay fit. I don’t think he’s been available for more than seven games in a row since the treble season.

I think I am right in saying he had problems at Villa, he was out for some time with shin splints.
