I have been away with work in India for 3 of the last 4 weeks meaning the last time I saw City live we were still on a long unbeaten streak, the 1-0 Southamption game - but I'm back in the ground tomorrow for the first time since - I'm hoping normal service will resume against the rags!
sorry chaps - all was going swimmingly until 85 minutes then we gave the rags three chances - we all know what happened next FFS

That's spot on.

This team is not finished. 3-4 wins plus 1-2 quality new players in January could make a big difference for the rest of the season.

The main reason why many don't see the good things in our game, e.g., vs Palace and Juventus, is the outcome bias: a bad result means a bad performance. Several bad results mean the team is finished, Pep is finished, Txiki did a poor job, etc. Sometimes shit happens, we are unlucky and the results are bad.

Pep's main mistake in the preparation for this season is relying on Stones and Ake to stay fit. Their injuries make it difficult for the other defenders, as these are overplayed and get injuries or lose form. We need a new CB.
I have always had a sceptical view of a lot of this so called data analysis. If it is saying that the current performances are not too bad I now convinced it is a load of bollox. I won't be reading the article thank-you.

It works the other way too. We were winning and playing pretty terribly at the start of the season. We've been bad all season really.

We probably wouldn't beat Southampton or Wolves if we had to play them in the next month.

Points don't lie 5 of them from a possible 33 and 11 games is almost a third of season and the way we have lost many of them strikes of a side devoid of all confidence and both mentally and physically tuned out with nothing in the locker to turn things around.

Think this needs changing with our current form to “The race for top ten”

Yeah we're done this season now.

Watched the documentary recently and it was interesting how Pep harnassed the 4 in a row mantra (never done before... yet) and used it as motivation. What exactly could he motivate them for this season? The squad is done, needs a big refresh of younger, hungrier players to move us on.

5 in a row was always madness to me, I had convinced myself it couldn't happen again but I never expected to give up on it as early as this.

Top 4 is a must, with a rebuild needed that cash and CL football offered needs to be there. I don't see how we get in it other than the hope that nobody cements their place in that top 4. You'd think there may be two spots remaining outside of Liverpool and Chelsea currently.

Really could have done with those 3pts yesterday. Tricky Villa away trip now to navigate. Got to halt this slide before it becomes totally demoralising across the board.

Yep, not just it being United but the points being so valuable and as you say, needed. Had we won though it wouldn't have been a turning point to set us off on a run. We don't have that in us, try to nick a draw at Villa, beat Everton and hope for an addition or two in Jan.

Everton who just ground out a draw at the Emirates by shutting up shop and hardly giving them a sniff of a chance?

I was forecasting a way of us getting some points together. I think we will lose to Villa and then have a tough game against Everton. I am hoping we get 4 points there and get additions in January to stop the rot.
