I have been an Eddie fan boy but I can’t argue with any of that. Once his distribution goes he is a very ordinary keeper and his distribution yesterday was way way off. Ortega should start.

His brain shut down for that goal. When the ball went through, I thought the usual Eddie will be out already to collect. He came out late, then reached his hands out like Diallo was going to backpass it to him.
 
I want a focused Ederson to return but it’s pretty clear that’s not going to happen, so as much as I think he’s better than Ortega, we still have to let him go in the summer. And let’s be clear, Ortega isn’t good enough to be our no.1, so if we are serious about being a top team again, we need 2 new keepers in the summer. Ederson should leave and Ortega should be thanked for his services but told he is not the number 1. If he wants to continue as no.2 he’d be more than welcome to, we’d love it. But obviously it’s highly likely he’d want to leave too.

By all means criticism and questioning decisions is fine. But many are straying into calling for him to be sacked or wanting him to walk.
 
Something I noticed yesterday, he was unwilling to play out from the back. He seemed to launch it aimlessly upfield whenever it came to him; whether that was Pep's instruction or a current lack of confidence in the players in front of him, it was sad to see. His best asset disappeared.

Couldn't agree more.
 
He shouldn't have been anywhere near the first team. His form has dropped off a cliff and he was useless at Juventus. He shares the blame in both goals yesterday and his refusal to ever get near to saving a penalty is wearing thin. I haven't been his biggest fan for a while. He gets away with a lot of fuck ups because of what he brings to the team and his lack of shot stopping largely ignored. It has come to everybody's attention now. He wanted out last year and he is playing like somebody who doesn't want to be there
 
Donut thief showed how GK with saving prowess can actually affect team positively.You still need saves to save you in critical moments and saves still is critical part of game. few here don’t want to accept that making saves is part of GK games always has been always will be.You can be elite passer but if you are average shot stopper it will hurt

I went to recount, i have to apologize. It's actually 1 in the last 35. Of the last 35 penalties he's faced, 34 penalties went in, 1 was saved

You need to go back and look again at his saves this season, clearly more than you recall, one in the first half yesterday !

He has fitted us perfectly for years , everyone has lost confidence but he has been making saves this season but the defence woes is stopping him from playing as usual

He doesn’t bring anything to the team anymore. That tactic has been sussed. His passes out of the box seem to just put us in trouble and some of his clearances are wild.

Not sure why he was brought back in really. Ortega should have been given 9/10 games before even considering a change back,

Agree. His kicking wasnt good but he had no out ball and when it was passed back it was a shitty pass to his right foot with an attacker closing him down. Made a great save from the header and was commanding on aerial balls.

I do think he wants to leave but I also think he's far from the problem right now.

Why are Ortega and Ederson conceding the same goals? Same goalie errors or a shit midfield and backline that doesn't press and is slow as shit? Our goalies are facing one on ones every fucking week
