Players who might improve us

I’ve got a better idea let’s sign no one because ‘panic signings’ and write the whole season off with no champions league football to sign players in summer!

Who is available mid-season who is has sufficient qualities to instantly improve the current situation? The danger is we''ll end up with another Bony or Phillips. January has always been a quiet transfer market where not many major signings have taken place at short notice.

The biggest failure is that we lost so many good academy players, and they are thriving at other clubs when we could have direly needed them right now. Morgan Rodgers, Cole Palmer, Tosin, etc. Why are we buying players when our academy is available? This is the biggest mistake to me. There is no market right now and we have a huge hole in our squad that could have been solved with our academy.

Morgan wasn't good enough at the time, wasn't great at Middlesbrough but villa saw something, Palmer wanted to leave, Harwood Bellis is at Southampton!!, Diaz look good at villa but can't catch Juve, James Trafford didn't look good enough at the time, Lavia, ordinary at Southampton and looks ok in a winning Chelsea team, Tommy Doyle just wasn't right last year, love him back now though, it's James McAtee, Jamal Simpson-Pusey, Nico O'Reilly and Jacob Wright i want to see given a chance, especially this season, we have nothing to lose.

We definitely need 2 or 3 CMs in the next year.

But on defense, id go all in on the LB "attacking" and the RB "defending".

This would simply help Gvardiol more as he is woeful in the back 3, but actually decent looking when used to overload the attack.

Antonee would be a backup to that option of our LB attacking.

This would completelt simpify our RB situation, as that player simply needs to tuck in as the 3rd CB.

With Ake always injured, id like Antonee, another LCB (when Ake is out), and 2 RCB/RB for Walker and Lewis, with Stones being at best backup to them.

So this:
LB: Gvardiol, Robinson
LCB: New LCB, Ake
RCB: Dias, New RCB/RB, Stones
RB: Akanji, New RCB/RB (2nd one), Stones

I won't keep Ake or Stones. It's time to be brutally honest. Both 30 and highly injury prone. They are not going to get less injury prone the older they get.

More time to bring in their replacement in the summer, selling club can't really take the piss with their valuation (unless the buying club has missed ther targets the previous season).

The viking isn't going to quit after missing out in qualifying for the Champions League in the summer ffs. Put your rods away on that. Whilst there is nothing wrong with Isak's ability he is in all intents and purposes injury prone and can't really rely on him for long periods of the season.
