Right now he's more effective than our entire team put together.
So are dozens of players in the premier league at the moment. Doesn’t make them all the right players to build our future around. It would be nice if he was still around now but he’s not so forget about him.

You are hell bent in spinning Palmer being as effective as Foden at City when he clearly wasn't.
Am I though? Have I ever said he was as effective as Foden? It has absolutely nothing to do with it

He wasn't sold because he wasnt effective. He was sold because we refused to let him go out on loan. Foden would have been as well if he at any moment pushed for a loan when it was clear that he could have started more regularily for any other team. Luckily he didn't. Palmer did. And Man City lost in that scenario. Not Palmer. Not Chelsea. Not a win-win scenario because our already performing aging players managed to win another title despite selling a young squad player. We lost that and will be reminded of it for the next 15 years because he is absolutely mustard.

And currently we have young players on the bench while our senior players stink the place out. Think we will learn?

Foden's earlier stats prove other wise. Scored plenty in his second season.

Which should have nothing to do with actually identifying what we have with Palmer when he instantly became a world-beater as soon as we sold him. Lets ignore that he scored goals both in the community shield and the super cup final in the limited minutes he got before he were sold that season. Lets further ignore that only 18 months later we need a player like him, and there isnt really too much value in the market.

Do you seriously believe that because Foden got through there wasnt space for Palmer? Or maybe, just maybe we should have managed the squad a little bit better, and whoops another homegrown world-beater?

The problem with selling Palmer wasn’t we sold him. He needed that move to develop, he wouldn’t be the player he is now without leaving city.

The problem was we didn’t insert the usual incentives like sell on, buy back, right to match a bid. Probably because we thought 45m was a great deal at the time.
