I don’t know what the fuck has happened to him since the end of last season but he has got hell of a lot to learn if he ever wants to get anywhere near kevs standards
Up with Iniesta, De Bruyne has been one of the best midfielders in world football since Zidane. I can’t see Foden being that level of player. There’s no disgrace in that, just can’t see it.

Nowhere near creative enough.

He's so much better than what hes showing right now. Its like hes hiding too much. But imo another player who suffers due to poor utilization. His off ball game and shooting is worldclass but hes not being found in those positions by his teammates. Just out of sync with everyone. That simply has to be on the coach. We know hes quality.

Where should he play ?

Where should he play ?
The tactical problem with Foden is more than just which position do you stick him on the pitch. You need him to have synergy with other players, read each other and anticipate moves, just fit naturally with a playing style and know his role among the others. IMO hes best in the centre but it seems like all the schemes that the Pep has worked on for years with some of these players have suddenly been forgotten and everyone's on an island.

How do we address that ?

Good 1st half, went quiet in the 2nd half. Felt like Everton's midfielders blocked him out, and he couldn't shake them off.

People say he looked for easy passes , peps whole philosophy is based on possession. One thing he did yesterday was try to hit Haaland first time whilst others were pissing around. Haaland on another day would have converted those we win 3/4-1 and everyone’s happy. I thought his creativity yesterday especially first half was spot on.

Did that lovely clipped pass over the top to Haaland - just needed a better touch

That applies to nearly all City players
I think Savinho had just received a knock so I’ll let him off, but Foden just couldn’t be arsed. Bernardo tried but you could clearly see he was fucked, which I’m not surprised with considering how hard he worked yesterday. Something is off with these players not even looking arsed about running back.

Pep’s teams are always renowned for tracking back and regaining possession of the ball, this seems to have stopped happening for some reason, tiredness, injuries or the players just not responded to him?

I’m not sure on either, but when you see the ref out running £250k pw athletes, you know something is amiss.

Said it in the last game. Unless his shooting is on form then he’s anonymous for the most part.

Not a Kev successor. Not a Merlin successor. Just a very good player and a nice one to have in your team than not.

But doesn’t particularly offer anything cut throat in most games.

Still, he will be - and should be - a mainstay in the team for the next 10 years.
Considering he learnt for years from merlin and then kev it is alarming he is not stepping up to the plate a bit more . However he is as entitled to burnout like the others who won us four titles
