PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

We got hacked TWICE?!?!?!

Are you kidding me? I regularly get angry at the ineptitude of our ticketing software with its unforgivable bugs, but someone let this happen TWICE?!?!?

Whoever the head of IT was has damaged this club more that anyone in its history.
The ghost of Peter Swales like this post…

I assume he means leaving the password open with the geezer that fucked off to the scousers, not exactly hacking more ineptitude.

Thread has turned a bit silly.

Firstly we don’t know the outcome so the “when we’re cleared” posts are premature.

Second, imo we won’t be cleared of “everything”. There’ll be something, somewhere, most likely non-cooperation, we get “done” for.

If this happens, it’ll be impossible for City to come out with any kind of statement that puts all this to bed. The man in the street will always be able to say “cheats, you just made it too difficult for them to prove it by hiding all the evidence”.

My view, at this stage, is that’s been the aim all along. A long, drawn out, expensive character assassination and a powerful way of asterixing the club’s achievements.

Why are you restricting this to what people say after the verdict? The damage has already been done. There are plenty in the media who, if the outcome is one of exoneration, have previously said things which are untrue, not caveated in any way and damaging to the club in the knowledge that City wouldn’t respond to them while matters were ongoing (or possibly at all).

I would also add that as much as I love Pep, and as much as his English has greatly improved in the last nine years, I don’t feel he articulates himself on this subject as effectively as I would like, partly because I suspect emotion gets in the way. He is ultimately the principal mouthpiece of the club, as he is the person with the biggest reach and appeal, but I am bound to wonder whether he will be able to convey the sense of injustice many on this thread feel about this whole situation and the motivations behind it in a way that does justice to it. Not sure what the answer is to that, but certainly more stridency from the club’s comms than the hitherto odd anodyne ‘irrefutable’ and ‘clear and organised’ would certainly help.

Think a big fuck off Molotov cocktail needs to be chucked in personally, but I fear the club will be too reticent about throwing the baby out with the bath water. Like I said previously, hope I’m wrong on this.
I'm the opposite. The win will be enough for me. Taking on the media would not go well.

I see on his most recent match report that Ian Cheesman was asking everyone he met how confident they were of the outcome. of the 115 charges. Most fans gave sensible responses and many said they would still be following the team irrespective of the outcome. Maybe just me being overly sensitive to the situation but thought his timing was weird. Why now when he hasn't really majored on it previously (other than his post Liverpool game faux pas)? Maybe I just didn't like seeing it mixed up with matchday coverage - it smacked of the kind of thing the BBC or Sky would do.

I actually think that if we had been proactive we could have taken the wind out of the sails of the PL witch-hunt at that point. We couldn’t have stopped the PL but we could have influenced the tone of the media coverage moving forward. We have allowed a small group of individuals to literally spread lies and disinformation about the case.
Agree we should have told everyone what CAS result realy was.
Since the CAS result everyone has been told lie about what the result realy was .
I will never understand that the brand Manchester City has led that happened.
Etihad will soon hold 60.000 , if they want new fans they have to fix there PR .
Expecialy if we are going to have a few years of not winning everything wich I thing is happening now . The rebuild will take a few season.

We have won a trophy this season - one that Spurs & many other clubs would love you to hold up
:-) :-)

The first one was the unauthorised Liverpool access. Unauthorised access due to poor security procedures. Big wake-up call. The second was Pinto. A different kettle of fish, of course, But none of it reflects well on the efficiency of security management.

All imho, of course.

Can’t wait for the verdict. Sick to death of fans of all clubs having a pop about ‘115’ fucking Sheffield Wednesday fans? Mansfield fans? What the fuck?

10 years ago we’d have been their favourite second team or whatever. Shows how damaging the clear and calculated attempts to belittle our achievements have been

I disagree. It would be nice if we could do that. But I feel it’s gone too far and they will try this shit again if we don’t hold them to account.

We need to go after all of them.
Hopefully HHSM purchase of the telegraph goes through then we can use them as our media voice.

We need to get across that it was a witch hunt oriented around racism and jealousy.
We need the general public to know how nefarious this case was.
We need the PL to be held to account and the media (that **** Herbert et al…) too.
They wouldn’t get away with saying what they said about any other business.
Or even football club.
We need to go after the bastards with all guns blazing.
Masters needs to resign and so do all the other members of the PL who enabled this like Mai Fyfield.
The next man or woman in the media to say anything defamatory we make an example of them, we bury them in legal costs and take no apology or settlement we drag them all the way through the court system and set the precedent.

We need to ensure this never happens again.

If we get that across the true reasons for this investigation the media and the PL will hopefully be too scared to pull this shit again.
Then we can let all the talking be done on the pitch.
Try what shit again?

As for the rest of your post, embarassing.

I think a few people need to go away and research Khaldoon and exactly how he operates, he is not getting involved in some shit slinging match via statements and PR backhanders in the media.

not sure how I feel about our response should we be fully cleared.

Obviously a very strong club statement to start.

Possibly to demand a similar public statement from media outlets.

A public declaration from the PL of our innocence ( as opposed to no guilty ) along with public acknowledgement of what the club has endured.

Not sure burning the world down around us would help as that would hurt us too.

Get cleared of the 130 charges and then win it all again?

I think any City fan that truly believes, in their own mind, that our achievements are in any way "tarnished" whatever the outcome are submissive weakdicks who have allowed themselves to be mentally dominated by opposition fans and club-affiliated media content providers like Neville and Carragher.

If the argument is that some neutrals have been convinced that our achievents have been "tarnished" by the relentless propaganda, I'd agree but don't care because that will wear off with time. Our records will speak for themselves and, in some cases, "echo through eternity".

As for opposition fans, they know the truth and it suits them to keep coming out with this shit because it helps them to cope with their pain. A pain that I, personally, find a daily delight.

If we are cleared, I have no doubt the club will make its feelings known through Khaldoon. He has said so.

I dont realy care what he usualy does .
He represents Manchester City wich most here have supported long before he knew they existed.
If they want City to be the biggest and best club in the world they must act , they are losing the fight and if they thing they are not in a war they must wake up.

Much as I enjoy that sentiment, it would be wise to remember where that course of action lead. We wouldn't want the whole building coming down on our heads in order to satiate a need for vengeance in the heat of the moment.

I am however comfortable our ownership has a wide reach and a long memory and that retribution will be served untraceably cold with malice aforethought.

Piping hot or colder than a well digger's arse. I'm comfortable with either!
