The reason he has hardly played is because one of the best coaches in history.......doesn't choose to start him, there is obviously a reason for that?
A short cameo off the bench, is no reason to suddenly think any player is good enough.
Even Saturday, totally anonymous first half....maybe that's why Pep doesn't agree with you?
Best coach in history is still playing a 63 year old mobility scooter riding Gundogan ffs.

Pep is colossal but he doesn’t get everything right all the time.

Let's agree to disagree! McAtee and Alverez in the same breath is embarrassing, if he was half as good as Alverez, he would have been playing this season.

It's not embarrassing at all, looking at the style of play; very similar. Both are in and around the box, an eye for shot or slide rule pass, both helped out defenders on the side of the pitch. The only thing McAtee lacks is the manic pressing of Alvarez, of which you won't find many players having that brilliant mentality.

As for scoring goals with other teams, that depends on confidence and being given the tools to believe.

Minor degrees of difference to me, but very similar tools.

But that's my eye.

Do you just agree with everything pep does?. So when we were losing all those games, you didn’t think maybe we could change things up. Gundogan for example has been shocking, you didn’t at one point think maybe Gundogan should be dropped?

That’s unbelievably harsh criticism. Poor first half, but then gets a hat trick in the second half. That’s after 10 weeks of not starting. What more are you expecting?

If we could only post in agreement with pep the forum would be dead. Pep and the club also make mistakes. Some of our recent transfers in particular

I think the thing with McAtee is if he is to get chances it is much better for him to get them centrally. We have seen with Grealish and Palmer to an extent that Pep over coaches certain players out wide in terms of retention. But with raw wingers like Doku and Savio there is so much space that opens up and allows players in the centre opportunities to do something.

Savio and Doku are looking good, Bobb will be back and Marmoush might sign and get minutes out wide too.

There is every chance McAtee can make a difference but he has to play over Bernado, Gundo, KDB, Foden, Grealish etc.

Shame because I really think he could make it here.

I recall him playing mostly on the right especially when Mahrez left: )

He started one game on the right after Mahrez left - the Super Cup game where he scored and got MotM. He then left the club a couple of weeks later.

He also started 3 PL games in total for us - 2 on the left and one as a false nine. So when were all the appearances where he a) played in his preferred position, and b) didn’t do enough to impress?

He came off the subs bench a few times and played on the right. He didn't get enough games to prove himself but when he did play he didn't do enough to impress Pep or he would have played more and most probably still be here.

We could sell Dax but I think there's room for him to develop here. I'd hate to see him doing the business at another club because when I see Palmer smashing it at Chelsea I feel sad that it's not for us.

Have we ever triggered a buyback clause on a player? (post takeover). I can't recall any.
To be fair, id rather he goes and become ( or attempts to become) the man in Germany. Than stay here playing a bit part role.

Mcatee may have the potential to be as dominant as Marmoush. But that could never happen here. He needs to go become the man and then come back.

He should do what Palmer wanted to do.

Let the man's freak wing fly!!!

My head agrees with you Dax, my heart doesn't, and that's because he's a local lad and a City fan. But if he isn't good enough to stay(in Pep's opinion) and we sell him we'll have to wait and see how it pans out. I just hope he gets until summer before any decision is made on him.
