Could the last 10 or so pages have not gone in a McAtee thread?
Alvarez form went downhill before he left. Not necessarily.
I agree Alvarez would score more as he’s a much more natural finisher but Macatee is more intelligent and would get more assists / create more chances imo.
No room on that thread.Could the last 10 or so pages have not gone in a McAtee thread?
He was invisible for over half the Salford game. He is a decent player and nothing more. He's a a very few good moments. Not putting much into the Salford hat trick, as I stated.Absolute rubbish. Average? What exactly are you basing that on? As he has barely played this season.
if your judging him on when he has. He changed the game against Leicester, scored a hatrick against Salford, despite barely playing and I’d argue he’s one of the best players our academy has produced. He wouldn’t be anywhere near the squad if he was average.
I would love that but I just don't see him being anywhere near that good.Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect yours but for my part I truly believe he could be a star of the future for us - reminds me of David Silva when he is on the ball sometimes - let’s wait and see which one of us is right in the long run - for my part just hope he stays at City whatever the final outcome
The fawning over this guy is perplexing.Absolutely clueless.
If I don't agree with you I don't understand the game?If you understand the game you would.
If I don't agree with you I don't understand the game?
Are you still a mod Jim? Can’t you shift all the McAtee chat away from here?Getting on for halfway through the month, and no sign of Txiki getting his jumper out of the wardrobe yet.
Silly comment. There's way too much attacking posters here if they have the temerity to not blindly agree such and such player is the best because they play for City. It's a forum for discussion and people have differing opinions shouldn't be lambasted for them. Some of your comments would suggest you don’t.
Its not really unfair, its factual.Agree with your general argument, but maybe comparing the Sheff attack and their chance creation to what he could achieve surrounded by rest of our team is a bit of an unfair comparison (?).
It’s factual, but the difference in quality between surrounding players of them and us makes a difference. Its not really unfair, its factual.
You could say the same about any player, they'd be better surrounded by better players. Its a no brainer.
The possibility (remote or otherwise) of him being moved on was raised on pg 66. It's fair that people are commenting on him in response to that. Are you still a mod Jim? Can’t you shift all the McAtee chat away from here?

You leave yourself open to criticism if you simply assert that you are ignoring Mcatee's hat-trick against Salford without explaining why. It was only Salford, but look how Spurs struggled at Tamworth until they brought on their top quality players to make a difference. Unless a goal is deflected, or an outright fluke, you shouldn't dismiss them. Goals and assists are the essence of attacking play. Yes, the evidence would be stronger if the opponent was stronger but he did do similar away at Leicester and he also stood out at Sheff Utd in a struggling side.Silly comment. It is, or might be! We just don’t know.Agree with your general argument, but maybe comparing the Sheff attack and their chance creation to what he could achieve surrounded by rest of our team is a bit of an unfair comparison (?).
It's not always what players do on the pitch that matters. I think Pep and the management team take more than just footballing ability and physical attributes into account. You need to be a team player, and if you're a bit of a bellend off the field or in the dressing room/training you're going to have to be an exceptional talent on the field to have any chance of success at the club. Palmer struck me as a bit of a bellend off the field and probably moved in the wrong circles. I think Phil also had his moments earlier in his career, but he's knuckled down and seems to be fully focused on his game these days. Hopefully McAtee can make the right choices. He came off the subs bench a few times and played on the right. He didn't get enough games to prove himself but when he did play he didn't do enough to impress Pep or he would have played more and most probably still be here.
Do you say the same about your car and house insurance when you haven’t made a claim?people still advocating for the buyback crap? we haven't benefitted from that even once. Missed out on a ton of lads, too
None have been good enough, so far.people still advocating for the buyback crap? we haven't benefitted from that even once. Missed out on a ton of lads, too
