Pep’s refusal to give him any minutes is an insult given how horrific others have been this season.

He deserved better. From what I’m told James will be communicating that he wants to leave permanently in January and I don’t blame him. He’s been treated poorly.

Another one bites the dust.

One must question how we deal with our academy prospects.

I think our record with young players has been atrocious, considering we have the best young players in the country. It doesn’t seem to matter how good they are either or if the entire first team is out of form.

We have no midfielders… wright and Oreily sat on the bench.

Your starting to see the early signs of it, but the best players in the league will end up being ex city academy players. Yet we waste millions on players who aren’t as good.

Usually, as much as I disagree, I'd understand being hesitant to play young lads at a time like this. They have limited time to make an impact and a couple of shit performances in a shit team can fuck with their confidence and lead to them being labelled as "not good enough."

But what makes that argument a complete non-starter is the fact that we're playing Rico in every game, through shit form, to the point where more and more fans are turning on him.

It's like we haven't learned the lesson from Palmer and Bobb. Academy players can make a difference if you let them.

Or maybe mcatee isnt really all that good? He hardly pulled up any trees playing for sheff U last season so I cant see him being the answer to our problems. It is weird though, pep should either play him or sell him(with a replacement) because the squad is small enough as is without having players in it he is never going to play.

To be fair that Sheffield United side was horrendous. I’m not sure what he was meant to do. He still learnt from it though.

I like him a lot but I’m trying to see everything realistic. And when it comes about young players it is
either they have the potential to play in overthinking fart or they will just warm the bench.

Foden is the benchmark and although circumstances have really forced the issue he is giving Rico a fairer chance in trying to crack it. His form is reflecting the overall team's.

The feyenoord game showed Pep was wrong.

Right now I'd take "not that good" over "fucking dog shit."

If he couldn't control the ball in midfield vs Feyenoord.. what makes you think he can in the PL where players are bigger, stronger, faster.

He's not cut out to be a City midfielder.. and doesn't seem to have the body to shield the ball like Rodri, Kevin, Gundo, Stones or Akanji.

Rico gets away with it because he's quick but even then you all complain he's not smooth enough.. so what chance has McAtee got?

This forum has double standards imho..
