Far too late to sue - and these examples are miles off anything you would sue over. But it’s a free for all for everybody to have a shot.

I do wonder what PR rule is to let everybody take the piss to the point where there is a daily tidal wave of snide posts and articles which simply don’t happen to other teams.

I’ve never worked in PR but I know if I did job number one this morning would be to give a call to young Nathan at the Mail and tell him that snivelling little ballbags like him won’t go far in this game.

The Paddy Power dig was aimed at the fans. The club have made clear time and time again they don’t give a shit about us or how we’re perceived to the outside world so they won’t give it a second thought.

The people in the media team will never admit to failing at their job. So many organisations are like this these days. No one wants to be accountable for anything.

Not even sure it would be the people in the media team to retaliate initially. If we was going to fight the shit we get it would be orders from above, genuinely that team do not believe it is there to begin with which is a big problem all around.

It's not too late for a selective (and tactical) legal action against one of the big media players (perhaps Daily Mail or the BBC). No point going after the youtube cowboys. I think it would be a smart move to take one of the big boys to the cleaners after winning the 115 battle. It would have a chilling effect on the rest of the media liars. There is no way any other major commercial operation would have tolerated what we have endured in the past decade without responding. That includes all the biggest global football clubs.

Let's assume that the slurs haven't affected the bottom line for the club and that the people employed aren't fans of the club and just care about the job they have.

I am sure most of that is true but the APT case has proved that we have lost major sums of income because of delayed sponsor deals and it is hard to say what the full impact of reputational damage has been on other potential sponsors. Certainly the PL leadership (influenced by our commercial enemies) has mounted a smear campaign to damage our brand (which includes negative press briefings) combined with obstructive delaying tactics to hit us financially.
