NoIs it too late to add them, thought they did the list again in Jan?
two games left. PSG and BruggeNo
Do the list after the first phase is over.
We have 3 more CL matches before that
I'd wiped the Juventus one out of my memorytwo games left. PSG and Brugge
Like I said, us wanting to find the best possible deal and long term solutions has never previously been at the expense of competing for trophies right away, evident by our unprecedented success. I think it would be moronic to start now.I think the club would be moronic to ditch a long term strategy, one which has led to unprecedented success, in favour of a short term panic just to calm the nerves of a few fans who think being 2pts off 4th is a disaster after being the first English side to win 4 league titles in a row.
That date still makes me shudderI think some on here should think back to 3 May 1998, then they would have something to moan about. It is great that I read all of the inside information about the fact we only started looking for a midfielder on January 1, and the club should be ashamed of themselves.
Unlike the scum, we don't just pluck some known star that will never gel with the team, and look how they are fairing. The arse manage to buy good players every season, but they are still no closer to winning the title. I have read multiple comments about why didn't we get Rice, what about Sanchez, Fred, De Ligt and rat face were wanted by posters on here, there are a multitude of players gone to those two clubs that many on here lusted over, but I would rather be in our position.
Our club identifies not only quality players, but people who are humble and will totally gel with the squad, which is why they take so long to identify them, and I bet there have been loads that we have passed on. Yes we have had a few like Phillips that fitted in to that role, but he just was not good enough to deliver what Pep expected. Jeez we haven't had many failures under Pep have we.
We have won everything over the past few years, and I will give my club of 54 years a bit of slack, it is know wonder that they have hit the wall after so much success. I am sure that they have people in the pipeline, and are smart enough to keep it under wraps, jeez how many times have we seen the rags gazump us in the past by paying over the odds.
I trust the directors and Pep to identify the right players, jeez he is the best coach in the World. I will accept one bad season, because unlike the rags, it will not be followed by another twelve. I remember clearly 3 May 1998, it was my lowest point as a supporter, I will not take for granted our success, I will not criticize the people who run our club, and I wholeheartedly trust them to deliver.
Good post, Phillips is the very reason we're determined to get it right and we're clearly planning ahead.I think some on here should think back to 3 May 1998, then they would have something to moan about. I agree we need to sign players that will improve the team.Would you be happy with Phillips back from loan? What about Essam el Hadary?
Or do players we sign need to actually be able to improve the team, to justify taking up one of the 17 spaces never mind the fees and wages involved. Assuming they actualky want to move, and their club are ok with it.
I'm sure we will try and may get somebody. However if it turns out we can't get somebody it will be for very good reasons. Unless you think we've been active in the first half of the window, but now we've got bored and can't be arsed.I agree we need to sign players that will improve the team.
But I, unlike you, dont think its impossible for one of the richest teams in the world, being champions in the most attractive league in the world, with the best scouting network in the world, to find a player its possible to sign (short or long term) that could actually strengthen our team. I think it's laughable that anyone would consider this as impossible, especially considering the current state of our midfield.
I'm not suggesting that we aren't trying. I'm saying that trying isn't enough, it's whats being delivered that matters. Just like I wouldn't think a striker is doing enough just because he is trying to score. If he doesn't actually score any goals its not good enough.I'm sure we will try and may get somebody. However if it turns out we can't get somebody it will be for very good reasons. Unless you think we've been active in the first half of the window, but now we've got bored and can't be arsed.
Ok. Not obsessed - just a thought as he’s good at going forward, scores goals & can depend onWhat is this obsession with using cbs as midfielders?
We need legs and players who can do the role.
Buying a defensive midfielder for 3 months is moronicLike I said, us wanting to find the best possible deal and long term solutions has never previously been at the expense of competing for trophies right away, evident by our unprecedented success. I think it would be moronic to start now.

I agree. Thats why we should either loan one or buy one for longer than 3 months.Buying a defensive midfielder for 3 months is moronic
Don’t worry there’s always Akanji.I will be surprised if Reis or Kushanov are thrown into starting games with us. Fa cup maybe but crucial CL games and top half PL sides(which is most of our fixtures in next 2 months PL) cant see it. be bench options instead of JSP? yes.
unless another big injury crises to defenders like Dias comes back but Ake and Gvardiol breaks down for 2 months out each. but then we will have bigger problems.
Exactly - nobody knows who we have in mind & when we contacted them. Some fans imagine new players would be signed on 1Jan & playing next game \_/I think some on here should think back to 3 May 1998, then they would have something to moan about. Moose is Frankfurt's highly prized, under contract player. They're evidently prepared to sell, but at a price which suits them which is their right. If we don't it will be because people have interfered who have no business interfering. Getting a real Napoli feel about Frankfurt.
And nunes at RBDon’t worry there’s always Akanji.
