PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Hold their feet to the fire of clarity transparency and accountability.....for as long as it takes City.

No equivication.

Never forget that these bastards have waged a 10 + year campain of destruction against our club.

If our response leads to ruination of the guilty so be it.....thats what they intended for us !!

If the charges are found unproven then the PL board will have lost all authority and will be rendered incapable of continuing.

A regulatory authority with no ability to enforce regulations can be easily interpreted as there being “no rules any more”.

It then comes down to the individual, how you view this new position.

City fans = no rules is good because these rules were targeted, discriminatory and unfair.

Lipton = bad because he (I think) believes there should be financial rules in place and something is better than nothing.

Two completely different ways to view the same outcome, while sharing common ground that City have been largely exonerated and the PL are a bunch of clowns.
A third way would be that the rules are fine, but we didn’t break them. Not that they couldn’t regulate. We are innocent.
Their position being untenable would be because even for a civil case it would have been quite obvious from early on that the balance of probability was in our favour.
They should not have pursued what was quite obviously a cabal backed witch hunt.

Then by that very tenet they are not fit for purpose, if they have carried this on when they new there was no chance of winning at the behest of a small few then they are unfit to regulate

We agree on the PL board is fucked for pursuing a case where there is little or no evidence, or that they charged us for something where rules were not in place at the time

But for him to say, if City win there are no rules, is absolutely not true, so the headline is correct

He made two statements
There are rules. We didn’t break them and some of them were unlawful anyway. He could have said that.

I want to hear the word innocent from the trolls in the media. Not more weasel words.

Ok mate. No point falling out over it. I think we can both agree he’s a ****!

It would be interesting to hear from the commercial team at City as to whether the allegations against us have created any clear and measurable financial damage to our brand..
Our revenues continue to climb despite their best efforts, because most people can see despite what they allege, we don’t massively outspend every other team in the league like PSG or Celtic, we are the 3rd highest spenders in the last decade and 11th over the last 5 years, here in the states we have enormous support because they love good football & winners, everything else is just white noise

Who’ll be first in the media to actually state we are innocent of what we were accused of though, ( or are we getting ahead of ourselves), not that the PL failed to nail us.

The million dollar question seeing as the integrity of our media whores has never been in doubt..............

.......purely because there is none and City are their easy target.

Journalism as a profession ...............?

I think that unless we get cleared of every single charge and have no fine or punishment the media will still go on about us being rule breakers and cheats. For example, if not guilty of all accusations but guilty of non cooperation and get fine for that the headlines will be “cheats found guilty” and all sorts of nonsense like that. If we get any charge imo there will be very limited reporting that we were actually not guilty of the major accusations.

It’s very much on topic. You’ve got a media voice that makes out it is ethical & righteous yet making false claims to imply guilt to benefit corrupt organisations. In war you’d describe it as “false flag” under liberal but actually doing the bidding of US capitalism & although it can go in the media thread it’s specific to the charges.
You're right, the Guardian are about as left wing as Keir Starmer. It's about time Socialist Worker or the Fabians took their place.

It's five years this summer since the CAS hearing , and I thought we were cleared. However the MSM have constantly peddled the 'still guilty' line ever since.

If we were to avoid punishment altogether or else be subject only to what's clearly a very minor sanction, that would clearly be rather humiliating for the PL. However, in terms of how matters might then unfold, much would depend on how the Panel framed its final determination. A suggestion that the PL clearly had legitimate concerns in making the accusations it did, even if it wasn't able to prove them in the end, would merit comment that differed significantly from the reaction to a suggestion that the PL had simply wasted everyone's time in prosecuting these matters.

Then there's the issue of whether mainstream media outlets, which until now have almost universally shown no desire to report the accusations against City honestly and in good faith, will be inclined suddenly to be truthful and accurate in reporting any overwhelming ruling in City's favour. Hopefully at least on the part of the club, there'd be a willingness to drive home the message of resounding vindication should the Panel's words allow us to.

Still, it has to be a case of wait and see at present IMO. I'm still at the stage for now of hoping that for the Panel to issue a determination whereby City avoid any meaningful sanction. Let's worry about the rest of it when the time comes.

while i agree with what you say my issue with this take has always been that legitimate concerns have been raised at united, dippers and arsenal and none of these clubs have been subjected to forensic financial investigation going back nearly 15 years in the same manner that we have and questions need to be raised as to why.

In the event of City being cleared of the charges brought by Masters and the PL, who will be the first to call out the massive waste of time, money and effort involved in satisfying the demands of the cabal members ?

Who will be calling for the head of Masters and acolytes who have allowed themselves to be driven by the greed of others ?

That is the litmus test regarding the integrity of the media surely ?

City lol
