I just don’t think he’s gonna turn it around now ,we’ve seen this with great managers in the past once they get in this tail spin they don’t seem to be able to get it right !

squad is gonna go through brutal changes soon. it has to. I think many not aware yet the names will be sent packing this summer. and some more will be on last chance saloon...

Viana has a huge job on his hand. many of this cycle of players took us as far as they were able to.

I for one would send Bernardo, KDB, Gundo, Stones, Walker all packing. they were fantastic players for us. won us the lot. we cannot rely on them anymore. not as a starter with games in every 3 days. and not far of saying the same of Ederson, Grealish too. Kova, Nunes might stay as bench options but we need to make sure they are not starting a lot for us.

hell of a rebuild needed quick but we were comfortable in recent windows.

Viana has immense hard job on his hand. hope a new set of eyes will help, Txiki got comfortable and he should have ordered Pep to rebuild the squad even if Pep was the one saying he wants one more go with these set of players.it backfired, and we cannot lie to ourselves any longer that if we had Rodri others wouldnt be same shit as they are now.

It’s really sad how this is going. Ultimately the club have let pep down big time
To a point, yes, but he insisted on a small squad and he refuses to change the way he plays. The Aussie at spuds is getting hammered for doing the same thing. I know pep has credit in the bank and rightly so, but he is at fault as much as the club is.

He’s a legend at the club and always will be, but he’s not immune to criticism.

We need as many out as in.

I'm looking forward to see some of those players leave.

Silva,
Gundo,
Walker,
Stones,
Kdb,
Ederson,
Grealish,
Kova,
Rico-Lewis,
Nunes,

All need to go. Once they've gone and we've got fresher players in, then we will see Pep back.

Starting XI made sense from the available players. Presume Dias was injured because that has to be the only reason to take him off. Second half we again lacked any leadership or game management.

I don't understand why Pep is averse to shutting up shop with 5 at the back or flooding the midfield. They had 18 shots in that second half and we had 0 hope of a counter due to Nunes being our only fast player - so just make it tight. Bring Stones on for Foden/Bernardo or earlier for KDB - go to a back 5 with wingbacks as we weren't gaining anything from keeping it as is. Baffling lack of pragmatism

That being said - the players were really, really, comically poor as soon as the first went in.
Your last sentence makes your second paragraph all the more accurate because we have witnessed the same all season. I don’t get it either

That’s some list is that, can’t argue with any in it neither but scary when you see it wrote down like that, almost a starting 11 there

He will, they're in for a shock in the summer, this transfer window is just the start of a brutal turnover of this squad.

Club hasn’t let him down, Pep said himself he wanted to go with the same players and preferred the small squad.
Often wonder if Guardiola doesn’t just act as a lightning rod sometimes and say say such things because he knows it protects others, and he also knows he has more than enough credit in the bank.

Either way, the management of this transition has been anything but smooth. Just have to hope that all in authority learn from it.

I think he is too loyal to his backroom staff.

We have lost a number of good assistants over the years and I feel we have no one else left who can stand up to him and tell him he is wrong.
We all see, bar Pep, the midfield woes, Lewis, Nunes as RB but he persists with it.

We have no doubt the worst set piece coach in Europe, our medical/conditioning staff can’t keep a player fit and players look knackered, even the young ones and players who were rested.
Our finishing is largely poor and transitions and defending embarrassing.

Not sure a few untested kids in defence will be much help esp as we are crying out for leadership and experience and at least 6 to 7 new starting 11 players are needed and it’s bordering on incompetence that 22 days into the transfer window we have not got at least 1 midfielder in.

The untested kids would've been useful a couple of months ago, when all the injuries started he should've used the kids and give the injured defenders enough time to get back to fitness even if it meant crap results in the short term, they could all be fit right now before the crazy run in February/March, instead he rushed all of them back in and the results were shit anyway and they are all injured now, perfect.

Seriously?
Clubs evolve, we've already done so in the recent past

What we've done is keep a pretty significant core for best part of 6-8 years and now a number of key players have dropped off simultaneously

There are deffo club legends tht right now need to leave for new blood to carry us the next half decade or so

Take no pleasure in seeing players who'd be in our greatest XI of all time, if not the greatest Prem XI of all time lose their legs and play as a shadow of their former selves

its the worst season of his career. he's never got more wrong he's never been more oblivious to his errors. hes probably earned a year like this. willing to bet he was the one who said sign defenders not midfielders too.
