PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The "apology" I read mentioned something about "whistles going off around the country". Now this is a reference to dog-whistles and how those on the extremities of a discussion (such as far-left and far-right politics supporters) get easily offended.

Did I hear it right? Felt a bit insincere from Sky if so as though we were being petty.

Here it is ...

"Speaking after an ad break at 3pm, Thomas insisted that Sherwood's views do not reflect those of Sky Sports, and apologised for the comment.

He said: 'Welcome back, before we get underway, the whistles going around the country, we had a conversation earlier today in the build up about Manchester City, their transfer business.

Or is it related to the kick offs? Maybe I'm wrong.
I thought it was because the apology came bang on 3 o'clock when most games were kicking off?

Sky should have said:

“We apologise for putting words into Rim Tim’s mouth attacking city on behalf of the legacy clubs”. “Rim Tims views were not his own and we will be more careful in the future while attacking MCFC…NOT”.

Hateful greedy influential bastards.
He's a muppet. He was full of confidence at half-time in the Spurs game. Then was ranting at the final whistle, I thought he was gonna burst into tears. He actually looked like he'd been crying.

These "attacks and slurs "on the club have been coming for so long and with such frequency that it is very difficult not to become paranoid and offended.

Sky are quite happy to keep pushing the narrative and thus even commentators such as Sherwood, who is generally fair towards the club, is getting used in their agenda.

The whole thing is totally wearing for the supporters who bear the brunt from ignorant and brainwashed fans of the cabal clubs, and although I doubt the noise will ever go away, a positive outcome of the charges together with and the associated club rules would go a long way to easing the frustration we have to currently endure.

The outcome ( hopefully positive ) cannot come quick enough imo.

I've only heard Sherwood say positive things about City before, surprised it came from him.
It was a throwaway comment said to try and fit in with the usual anti-City narrative in order to try and fit in and get more work from a channel whose bias is clearly evident. He was a studio guest on Optus the following day.

I watched it live and tend to agree with this.

The whole segment was utter nonsense. From the presenter saying we’d bought a Brazilian right back called Reis, then Merson and Morrison chatting absolute nonsense and not understanding the PSR system to Sherwood saying we can do what we want.

When you employ morons to chat about football for hours, that’s a lot of words. They’re always going to chat utter nonsense, whatever the subject.

They say that an infinite amount of monkeys on an infinite amount of typewriters given an infinite amount of time will one day produce a Shakespeare level novel.

Soccer Saturday is proof that theorem is false.

My favourite Soccer Saturday pile of shite was back in the 2018/19 season. They were previewing our Monday night away league game at Wembley v Tottenham and spent a good 10-15 minutes discussing how Spurs would cope with Lloris being suspended, having been sent off in the previous game. They were all at it including that wanker Stelling. I couldn't believe what I was hearing because although Lloris had indeed been sent off in their previous match, it was a Champions League game that he'd been red carded in!

Ergo, don't employ morons, or better still, employ both morons and experts but allow the audience to be able to easily differentiate between the two by having the morons sat in a sand-pit eating ice-lollies and wearing protective head gear, while the experts can sit behind a desk and wear suits.

Tbf it sounded a bit like he was just trying to be 'one of the lads' with it. Merson set the tone, he went with it, probably thought he was just being funny.

Some of the things Carragher and Neville imply (without outright stating it) are imo worse though.

Such as ? Any clips or specifics

HAALANDs job is to score. Which he does quite a lot. Does what he can to help the team. Never going to be a Kun but a wonderful one off animal of a goal scoring machine.

Blue tinted specs and all that but Aguero was no genius in the build-up either. He got about 0.17 assists a game and Haaland’s at an almost identical rate.
