We shall see. Maybe City’s drop off in form will have dissipated the tension somewhat as you’re reeligg by in Liverpool, not us.

You guys make every game a drama, so I don’t expect anything different at the weekend.

Lots of high 5s for blocks and wasting arms to get the crowd up.

I honestly believe that if you guys just focused on football, you’d do better.
We're not reeling in Liverpool, just not good enough and as for the rest of what you say yes I agree with that. I wish we were less emotional and more focused and I don't condone any of what I fear will happen. It is one reason we haven't won anything I'm sure.

The other thing that's nailed on is an Arsenal goal from a corner that the membership here is convinced is a foul on Ederson. Stick your mortgage on that happening!

FWIW I reckon it may be a draw at the weekend but you guys have Bruges to focus on before any of this takes on any significance.

You never know. The title race doesn’t really start until March. The media make it starts before Xmas, but all you need to do is be in contention come Easter time.

Fans of all teams moan that other teams get away with more at corners than their own team.

I’d like to see where Arsenal put their 4 players to run into the centre and have 5 of our players hold hands and stop them getting through. Problem solved!

Brugge will be huge for us and we might be on a high or a mega low.

It’ll be an interesting game, whatever happens.

Yeah I agree that fans can be one-eyed. We're upset (rightly so in my opinion) about the red card at the weekend and how 'all decisions go against us' yet the same fans seem to forget we scored from a corner that never was against Spurs a couple of weeks ago. Swings and roundabouts.

I imagine you'll get past Bruges - will be nervy if you don't score early but Foden seems to be in form of late so you'll pick the lock.

Your idea for stopping Arsenal's corners is novel - no doubt the ref will blow for a pen for handball though! Will be an interesting game at the weekend - not sure we have the firepower to blast City away, you'll no doubt try to avoid giving set pieces away. Midfield is where Arsenal are strong and where you'll miss Rodri but I suspect City may go long to Haaland and let the midfielders play off him like the Foden goal vs Chelsea - that's very hard to defend against as Haaland is so strong.

I doubt it will be a goal fest.

Reffing decisions always rile fans. I had a running battle with a fair few on here to have the temerity to suggest that the whole of PGMOL isn’t against us and that it wasn’t a corrupt organisation out to stop us winning stuff. They weren’t very good if they were anyway!

Fans always remember the “howlers” against them and not for them. All debatable decisions are where the refs either “hate” or “love” a club.

Pep fumed at officials for years until he realised the key was not giving the refs the option to fuck up. It’s not foolproof as stuff still happens, but it’s diminished for us recently.

Being over emotional in a game has repercussions. This includes influencing the referee subconsciously. How can a human not be influenced by men screaming at him all of the time?

The key to beating you lot is moving the ball out of your pressing zone as quickly and accurately as possible. See Villa recently.

You press very well, but that’s because you overload to minimise space and time on the ball.

I agree that the longer ball to Haaland maybe one of those out balls, just as Villa used Watkins. They went to shite when Duran replaced him.

So...

Do we toss off Sunday to help the arse. Or do we beat them and the dippers just to get arsehole twitching?

:)
If you beat us on Sunday you'll finish above us in the league this season, of that I'm certain. Pretty sure City will be going all out to win.

Yeah makes sense. What I'd say though is against Villa we didn't have Saliba and I'm pretty sure Villa don't get those goals with Saliba there. Certainly not Watkins' goal as he was being 'marked' by Partey who is a DCM and not a defender. We should have been out of sight but ironically were incredibly lucky to win at Villa Park at the start of the season so the luck ran out.

Given the history of Pakistan cricket players holding them up as being the moral arbitrators of sport is quite a take given that two of them got locked up for match fixing at said Lords but you crack on or are you one of the fools who think that Oliver and Pigmol are paid off the books by us?
If your refrecneing Oliver moonlighting in the UAE. Its not an allegation.

Anyways, Webb has put a stop to PL referees being renumerated outside the PL. To be honest it should never have been allowed to happen in the first place. Creates all sorts of speculation and innuendo.

Just seen on SSN ‘it’s not malicious it’s just a scrape down’ lol
SSN using its influence to get him off.
Kinda the opposite to us when we get trial by media.
It wasn't malicious imo, but it doesn't have to be malicious to be a red card.

I'm glad you read my whole post before coming to that conclusion.....

At the end of the day, after the 2-2 at the Etihad there were very few City fans here going 'I think Haaland probably shouldn't have done that'. Instead he was being cheered on, as if acting like a cowardly yob was acceptable and there wouldn't be any repercussions for doing that to a 6 foot 3 Brazilian centre half who's built like a khazi.

People here were actively supporting what Haaland did. People in glass houses and all that. Maybe you should look at your own reactions to this incident and Haaland's little 'stay humble' outburst before criticising the behaviour of other teams. Haaland is a great player but he's also a bit of a cock at times. That's fine, many great players are and he's big enough to deal with what may come his way.

Like I said, I hope it all stays calm and we win 1-0 in a boring game, Gabriel scoring from a corner. But I fear it will kick off and neither team can do with that at the moment.
FUCK ME! The delusion is strong with this one!

Cowardly yob?? He bounced a ball off his fucking head and apparently that's enough for a physical assault as retribution! Have you fucking heard yourself (and Saliba for that matter)? You're such a fucking idiot (and so is Saliba)

This is the most tarquin of tarquin things ive seen from your lot and ive seen alot, given some of the bitch moves we have seen from your players you want to make sure your own hands are clean before you start pointing fingers at others

Is there not an arsenal forum you could be peddling your shite in? Coming in here preaching to Manchester City, the club who boos its own players, boos Wenger, boos Arteta, earlier in the season was even booing Odegaard. Fucking detestable club, with detestable entitled fans. One thing you’ve done well at is to manage to become an even more cuntish fan base from spurs, that took some doing

You can bet that the southern prick was pissing his sides when that orange, panty wearing Mary-Queen pulled the gloves off a keeper at a corner. You can bet there was no mention of glass houses that day, just that it was funny.

I do think your midfield will boss us. I also think Odegaard, on his day, is a joy to watch. Re us: Our succession planning has been woeful, hence we look so vulnerable this season, particularly after losing the ballon d'or winner v the Arse. I saw a very ruthless side of Arteta that day at ours. I was by the corner flag and saw quite clearly the Havertz challenge just 40 seconds in on Rodri. It was targetted but that should be part of the game i feel. "Let him know your there" type stuff from minute one. Havertz was over zealous but I'm sure it compounded to Rodri's serious injury. Rodri buckled like never before.. I'm sure his acl was under a lot of pressure from that first minute challenge. Second "knock" from the corner and he was a gone ..for at least a season.. it could even be a a career threatener tbh.(many are not the same post acl). City don't have the players to "stick one on" Odegaard but that was definitely Arsenal's tactics at ours and it served you well...as it f'ked up our season as well as the game. After all it's genuinely difficult to replace a ballon d'or winner mid season. I predict 3:1 to you lot as we will get over run in midfield for certain. Bruges is our nunber one priority this week in reality.

We've played the dippers numerous times in battles with them and whilst there's way more bite off the pitch than we'll ever see with Arsenal, on the pitch it's been two teams going toe to toe the best way they can. There's been controversy, there have been incorrect decisions but the two sets of players play the game in the belief they'll win it playing the way they always do.

With Arsenal you seem to have abandoned any intention to play good football. Maybe it's due to injuries, but it has felt like following your loss of form late in the 2022/23 season Arteta has felt like you've needed to be less expansive to win the title. It's not good to watch, when you definitely were in 2022/23.

But in the 2-2 you set your stall out from the first minute with the charge into Rodri. You were coming to disrupt and be physical. It's natural we then gave you some back. The entire second half our players had to watch fake injuries and constant stoppages to try and delay things. It's up to the refs to take control, but he didn't. So when we did get the equaliser the emotions were high and Haaland dished out some stick. He's never getting a fucking red card for it, a yellow at most in any case.

If you want to make it a physical battle again then that suits us more than you. I don't think any of our players are quaking in their boots at the idea of going to the Emirates and it getting feisty. The majority of this City side have won all over Europe in much bigger and tougher circumstances. We're 4th in the league, playing 2nd at a ground which might be noisier than it used to be but is still not a fortress. We won't be too concerned. Play a more expansive, high energy football and you'll cause a lot more problems for us. I'd be stunned if Arteta instructed the side to get any form of revenge from the 2-2 and if your players are still stinging from that result then they'll never win the title. You get over it and you win the next game you play, then the next one. And in the return fixture you forget what went before and try to win that.
