Don't the sales of Alvarez and Cancelo fall into the same FFP period as the purchases in the current window? I'd have thought one of the reasons we can spend a lot this year is because we;ve already sold a lot

No one seems to grasp this. We have spent net £33m this season, that’s £30m less than Southampton.

I worry about comments like this. Ratboy is a festering pot of rag poison who never uttered an honest word of praise about us in his life.
Wrong. He often talks well about us, sometimes in direct slagging off of his beloved rags. Thats a fact, too.

No, Neville will set a false narrative like when he talked about this throwing his hands in the air, it doesn’t make sense.

He won’t look at all revenue streams & say City have never claimed to earn more on match day or commercial but they are so successful they make more in broadcast. The bloke not only works in TV, he produces the overlap so to say he doesn’t understand this is a fucking joke. Once he says it, it becomes fact & is repeated.

Saying City are brilliant & the Rags are shit doesn’t make him fair.

Sports Reporters are not really journalists any more. They just regurgitate knee jerk quotes from the web. They don't investigate and research information. They rarely break stories. They attend press conferences which all fans can already see live online. What a pointless exercise. I am certain that many members of this forum have better contacts at City than any of the current press pack. Most of them don't have a clue what is happening at the club and know nothng about financial issues. Over the last decade the information on Bluemoon has been consistently better than anything in the mainstream media and has mostly been much more accurate.

It's worse than that. They have pretty much written their reports before the conference has even started, because being first with a controversial tidbit is everything. You can tell, because there is never a dialogue with several journalists following on from previous questions and replies. It's all idiot journalists just asking hopeless, pre-defined questions with no thought to previous answers or replies.

So the pre-headline will have been "Guardiola says embarrassed if City don't qualify". If he says yes to the idiot question all good. If he says no then a few tweaks and a new headline "Guardiola says not embarrassed if City don't qualify". Job done. It's pathetic really. The greatest mind in world football is available to them and he is subjected to this bollocks twice a week.

GNiAC.

In that old MEN article he says ;

" City will never be as big a club as utd on the global scale, when it comes to power.."
The arrogance and stupidity of this public announcement is high...on a similar level to Alex Ferguson s " never in my lifetime" speech
2 red bastards getting giddy ,making statements that look silly ..looking back...

Nevilles big personal problem is he signed a big contract with the BBC an sky to be the big expert pundit,at a time when utd were the best team in England. Both the bbc and gary nev must have thought they had signed the dream deal,Neville looking forward to waxing lyrical about utd, globally for decades to come.

I've posted on here before how I walked past the man at Euston train station London, allsuited and booted, round about the time he fell in with the bbc..probably the day he signed the contract for he looked smug, very happy with himself...

Well that dream has been shattered, hasn't it gary?
More of a nightmare now...which means his day job is uncomfortable for him ,and he has to " say it how it is " which must be eating him up inside....
I've heard fairly intelligent Neville ramblings tbf ,over the years, but I caught a GN sky sports podcast last week, after the Chelsea game, and the true measure of the little man was there for all to see..

When asked...about our great fullback Tony Book,he said he didn't know a lot about Tony..before his time, words to that effect..
And quickly moved on to talk about Denis Law.......I Kidd you not...?!!

How on earth...can an expert national football pundit not know about a player who was voted Player of the year and played the same full back role throughout his career, playing for a team in the same City(did your Dad never tell you about Book v Best on derby days ?)
It was at that moment ,.......despite his professional mumberlings over the last decade or so, that I decided.

GNIAC.

Edit. At least Nevilles presence at the Davros meeting for world leaders in Switzerland last week ,means that he is getting closer to the Global Power thing he referred to in the MEN article.

This is the biggest thing. The biggest betrayal of football. Of fans, of themselves and shows them to be the squalid little muck rakers that they are.

Twice a week they get to sit in front of a living legend. A man that redefined the game and took dominance to an unprecedented level across 2 countries. An obsessive problem solver, educated but creative, a man who sees traits in players that nobody else does. A man who has a passionate love and belief in the correctness of his philosophy and constantly finds new ways to adapt it. A man who will be referred to for decades and centuries to come in football history both tactical and cultural.

A living legend, at the height of his powers, twice a week. And what do they ask him? What he reckons about Walker getting his cock out in a bar.

This would be like getting Jesus, Charlemagne, Einstein, Napoleon, Aristotle and Newton over for dinner and asking them who they reckon should be voted out of the jungle.

It took you THAT long to decide that he is a ****?

Sky were forced to apologize after Tim Sherwood's comments about us 'playing by their own rules.' So let's get this straight. A man whose only career trophy came when he joined a team that won by buying up all of the best talent is annoyed that we are able to buy up all the best talent. Probably just bitter that the club he joined couldn't make it last more than a season or two.

It's really because our press have limited football knowledge.. and sadly a lot of 'fans' in the UK relish stories sbout brasses and cocks out. I have a pal who is a Athletico Bilbao fan.. he says there are at about 20 amateur vloggers who report daily on training....the nuances ..whose doing recovery work.. ..what structured sessions are run and why. For example: Why do a middle third box play session? etc. Makes their paid journos work harder. Maybe collectively we should do this. No personality bollocks, including slating opposition based in personalities or fans character just pure football. Might get a seat at the press conferences.. Pep (coach) would love it, a proper tactical question each conference. That should be our mission on BM

Fucking muen reporting this morning that Doku has offered himself to Barcelona, with no mention of the fact that YESTERDAY MORNING his camp absolutely rubbished that story. I would ask why but we all know why
When do the press realise that its the clubs who instigate convos based on their extensivd recruitment team plannkng meetings..they dont just look at players who rock up to their training ground and say "gizza a game. I can do dat" ..for those with long memories

I don't think it's an ability thing with Rico but he lacks strength although age is on his side as he's only 20. I think we need to give the lad a bit of time.
I love Lewis' commitment.. great squad player to have..Ged Keagan mould for me. Limited ability though which you can see by the way he addresses the ball and struggles to 'scan' when receiving it. At 20 i think you don't improve those fundamentals much.. that's ingrained awareness. Limits his ability to.start games at top level though. But def squad player

I don't disagree with any of that. The Ged Keegan comparison is a good one.

When you think about it - there's a hell of a lot of fleas on the dog that is football -

  • Journalists just waiting for stories to fall into their laps
  • Ex-players acting as pundits that add nothing to your understanding of the game
  • Co-commentators - see above
  • TalkSport
  • Harry Redknapp
  • Agents
  • The football arm of the gambling business

Watching the transfer show on sky sports. Audience member question about the charges. Before anything was said “we must emphasise City maintain they have done nothing wrong.” Then Kaveh Solhekol very cagey. Words to the effect the PL felt City had a case to answer but City adamant they have done nothing wrong. The result is unknown to anyone at this stage and the media should be “responsible” and await the outcome before commenting. Suggests Sky have realised they can no longer keep up with the cheats innuendos. Pity it took this long and maybe City’s warning after the Tim Sherwood nonsense has hit home hard.
Yeah saw that … southern based Real Madrid ? Fan ?? Asked the question ( more like a rag I guess ) a very, very delicate response was given .

Just to put aside Neville's ridiculous dick measuring contest for a moment, he is in fact correct. In the simple mind of a knuckle dragging Utd supporter, living in the past, we will never be as big as the Rags. But, in the real world (if we were bothered) ....
