The Labour Government

Going full Tory/Maggie today lol

Can’t wait for the cheerleaders explaining it all away ;-)

“Deregulation”

Lots of talk from Reeves about growth, but I find it worrying that after 6months she hasn't achieved any. Seems the same with the housing targets, but that was more obvious as it largely depends of the cost of borrowing.

“Deregulation”

“Regulators come up with ways we can make the economy grow because we don’t have a clue”

Not entirely sure the answer was “we’re the problem, sack us”

We do know one regulator from the competition and markets authority was made to walk the plank for not coming up with any ideas - I guess he wasn’t keen on just waving through monolithic mergers in the interests of growth but at expense of their customers. These are dark times.

I just nodded off...

which is why politics in the UK is in the shit. Reeves is setting out in detail a strategy, a plan, something that was not done by the Tory Govt despite business crying out for it. I guess some people want a 3 word slogan like Stop The Boats and then wonder why everything is shit.

"Going For Growth" , "Further And Faster". No 3 word slogans detected here ;-)

You saying I want to "stop the boats"?

She's a boring fucker who takes money off pensioners. They're going to do fuck all like the last lot. All talk no action.

Yeah glad we’ve got rid of these 3 word slogans, like Smash the Gangs and Fixing the Foundations.

That was an entire speech/"policy announcement" under Sunak.
You watched this morning a half hour detailed policy announcement that clearly went beyond some people. The third runway at Heathrow for example is long overdue.
Would you rather have had the Government spend that infrastructure budget on the north? Cost estimates are circa £14B, isn't this just more London centric spending?

Right on the money, C! You've only got to spend a few days in London, catching a train or a bus, and you soon realise that the 'north system' and the 'London system' is a hundred times further than the train travels from Piccadilly to Euston or Leeds to Kings Cross!

And even though I'm in favour of improving public infrastructure had Boris or Rishi announced this I just wonder what Ange 'n Rach would have said about it. Gimme a laugh someone and tell me the HMO are not in favour!!

I long ago came to the conclusion that MPs sitting on the front bench are just hypocritical clowns, but with each passing week I fear they are worse than this.

3 word slogan you say?

We have just had 6 months of them!

Trash talking the country hasn’t worked for them so now it’s all rosy and let’s mirror Maggie time pmsl.

The rest of the country gets forgotten again when it comes to large capital infrastructure projects. Repeatedly successive Governments ensure these end up in London. HS2 started in London, Crossrail/ Elizabeth line, the second Dartford Crossing. Heathrow expansion. And the rest of us get Hinckley Point. Lol

Sorry I forgot, 8 years ago Greater Manchester got the £85m Ordsall Curve, but even that wasn't funded fully so the line only operates at a 25% of its capacity as they didn't build the extra platforms at Piccadilly. Haha
