It's not so much the 'salute' that is the comedy, more the pavlovian reaction to it.
I’m not sure Pavlovian is the best term to deploy as a source of comedy, given the subject matter that gave rise to such a reaction. People instinctively react to something that closely resembles a Nazi salute, because it symbolises a regime that committed one of, if not the worst crimes in human history, involving the systematic and brutal murder of millions of people on an industrial scale.

So people must be entitled to react in a Pavlovian way to such a salute, rather than be mocked for it. They are reacting in such a way because of what the salute represents.

I don’t see how any reasonable person could mock someone for reacting badly to something which was clearly crafted to resemble such a salute.

I just can't believe anyone falls for the schmuck of the 'GB News vicar'. He's clearly just after a rise. Tbh I'm more concerned about the actuality of nazi genocide being replicated in the middle east than some clown apeing a performative hand gesture for the purposes of trolling. I find the spectacle of a black 'vicar' in religious garb giving a nazk salute more pythonesque than disturbing really.

“Elon Musk salute” ? Can’t folk just call it what if obviously fucking was.
Meanwhile, the same lot who are getting worked up about a hand gesture, the exact same people......are also happy to let certain groups of people - who in fact hold similar views on Jews as the ones who actually popularised the salute and did far, far worse in WW2 - openly threaten and even assault Jews in London, France etc, to the extent that in certain localities in France Jews have started to flee to Israel.

Would be funny if it want so grim.

How do you know they are exactly the same. Did you take IDs?

I say ditto to dat.
I object to being referred to as a cult member.

I am not in a cult. Never have. Never will. I am not in the Trump cult. And certainly not in the Anti-Trump cult either.

It would seem some have defined not being in the Anti-Trump cult as evidence of being in the Trump cult. I think that's unfortunate and misguided :)

I offer you my most humblest apologies @Dax777

My turn of phrase is obviously foreign to you but I’m sure not to my countryman, TonyM.

So much for an attempt at humour.

That’s ‘humor’ to you, by the way.
