Was it in her contract to pay her whilst she was out injured? It probably was in there if she's injured playing for City, or she has a crap agent. To me, why would she thank the club for doing something they are legally required to do? Should Kev thank them for paying him when he was injured? Is Rodri required to thank them now?
Of course they supported her while she was rehabbing her knee. She was essentially City's property. They bought her. She was an investment and it would make zero sense to have the club show her door because she was injured. They may as well burn money in the fireplace.
Honest question, if you think she isn't a good player, why do you care where she goes? I don't like United either but if you think she's no good you should be happy if she goes there, no?
If you don't agree with what she said, fine. However, don't say things that may you look like a fool because you don't like what she said. I assume you are smarter than that. That said, some people do have a saying about those "assume" though, don't they?
Fine. I'll give you the benefit of the dout to superior knowledge because you claim it. I'm all right doing that. However, I'm guessing the game, treatment of players and contracts may well be different when your friend played and perhaps the WSL and City treat their players than a League 2 outfit for example. As for City's facilities being superior, I do know that. Some WSL teams don't even have proper changing rooms or showers for their womens teams.Have a look at the League Table and see where City and United are. Why would we help a direct rival for a Champions League spot this season? On what planet would that be a sane decision?
She is a player that hasnt progressed at all and clearly isnt in our strongest XI or even near it at the moment. However she may get in their team - if shes that desperate to go there she can wait till the summer and walk to them for free. At the moment if shes that desperate just to play football she can go to Brighton and play there every week - its hardly football siberia and isnt the worst place to live, given she hails from the south of the country anyway. Her recovery from an ACL injury was certainly aided greatly by the facilities and care she received at the CFA, which is a far superior facility and operation compared to most Womens Teams in England. It enabled her to get back fit and play in the Euros and have her moment in the sunshine - something she will probably reflect on more when she writes the book after her career is over. A public hissy fit on social media to try and force a move, and scream "oh woe is me" isnt the way to go about things.
We are not some naive charity operation there to help that lot across town, unless all common sense has gone out of the window. I wouldnt give that lot across town the dirt off my shoes.
In regards to understanding how things work, having a good mate whos an ex-pro and 2 mates who are current professional footballers has given me a fairly decent window into how the game works. Your complete naivety on the game shines quite brightly though.
Considering current, and former, City players such as Alex Greenwood, Esme Morgan, Ellie Roebuck, Ruby Mace and Georgia Broughton (I believe I've left some out) as well as other WSL players like Sam Kerr, Millie Bright and Alessia Russo have liked and commented in support of her, leads me to believe it is more than just Chloe having a strop.Taylor must be the problem why we been losing all those players!
This is 100% spot on (providing the Brighton/United rumours are true)Of course they are gonna support her, they are her friends. And we all know players have had issues with Taylor in the past. But that doesn't mean she gets to decide where she goes, she is under contract and if she wants out it would be under whatever terms the club decides. For example, Esme or Sandy, I would assume they wanted to leave earlier but they had to present an offer that was ok for the club, and they ended up going abroad for game time. Roebuck had to see her contract out. From what we have read, the club is letting her join Brighton, but she only wants United. I'm all on board the Taylor out train, but I have no sympathy for her when she says she is after game time and she is not taking the chance to play
I agree with you and @krak. The fact that current players are publicly supporting her instead of just keeping quiet does make me wonder. This is 100% spot on (providing the Brighton/United rumours are true)
It seems other players also think she hasn't been treated fairly based on that, and I would agree with them. I don't think she deserved it at all and I feel sorry for her. She will be missed, I loved her time hereI agree with you and @krak. The fact that current players are publicly supporting her instead of just keeping quiet does make me wonder.
I do not disagree. Over the last few years, there has been something of an exodus of good to very good players. It seems other players also think she hasn't been treated fairly based on that, and I would agree with them. I don't think she deserved it at all and I feel sorry for her. She will be missed, I loved her time here
But in my opinion, looking at it from the club's perspective and thinking just about football, the club is right to not let her go to United
Yes, that nasty club that paid her when she was injured for a year on the same contract, shitty City the terrible club.Rag woman on talkshite stirring about nasty city holding her to her contract.
She frustrated by the situation, not all of her own making, so I think that's a bit unfair, but some of it is. Her form fell off a cliff and she was rightly left out, and she hasn't done much to help her chances when she's had chances.Just for that alone, she should be made to stay and sit on the bench and never play again.
Even at the rags? She frustrated by the situation, not all of her own making, so I think that's a bit unfair, but some of it is. Her form fell off a cliff and she was rightly left out, and she hasn't done much to help her chances when she's had chances.
It's sad to see her time at City end this way, but best for all to go now imho, I'll still wish her the best though.
No, but she doesn't hold the cards anyway, I'm not that bothered, I think her form is the concern, and it's been short of what's required.Even at the rags?
