Did his job. We gave him one solitary opportunity to score, he scored. You cannot ask him to do anything more than that.
It's just mental we made so few crosses when every single chance we had was from a cross, Nunes and Savinho just kept passing it backwards instead of putting balls in.

It hurt my eyes so much that I almost started screaming.
Every damn time.
We need someone like Milner.

Savinho and Nunes are perfectly capable of putting a good cross in, we've seen it multiple times now, we saw it in this game itself with the equaliser, but no you gotta keep possession and all that shit, possession that only leads to oppositions counters.

I was screaming for Nunes to stick crosses in too but when you saw the box, it was Hsaland on his own against 3 or 4 defenders, not great odds. Only balls that can be whipped in to evade the near post markers would stand a chance of actually getting to him. Nunes was never really in that position to stick one of them balls in, he always got the ball after a lofty diagonal with gave the defence time to have already dropped and set by the time it got to him. Savinho had a few opportunities to get down the line and put himself in that position but didnt. Marmoush and foden were nowhere close to getting in the box in support of a potential cross.

And we still created 3 or 4 great chances from crosses, should've relentlessly whipped it in, either that or set up Foden or Kova for a shot from the edge of the box, we instead just decided to pass it around until magically something would happen.

we are of the same mindset. We have a possession that is useless and from which the opponent's counter attack comes, instead that we need to relentlessly throw every ball into the opponent's 16, so something will happen. Basically, with this method, we have 100% more chance to score a goal than the one we are playing now.

Just try something that was at least working a few times rather than something that wasn't working at all,

pure mathematics

Danger to the opponent's goal if we use an insane number of crosses theoretically; 10%

Danger for the opponent if we return the ball to Kovačić in every attack; 0%

and spamming crosses has worked wonders for Madrid all these years, obviously doesn't mean it should become our style but worth a try in this spell.

I’ve been critical for his efforts however the set up to allow him to play is somewhat mind boggling, look at Mamoush today I bet the guy can’t believe what is going on, nobody passes the ball forward.

We definitely need to mix it up a bit.

Our pointless going nowhere possession is easily defended against nowadays.

Why do United for example score so many late goals.? It's because they aren't scared to fling the ball forward, or get crosses in to the box.

We are so one dimensional.

He will have to get used to it. Haalands given up most of the time

Playing fast works for haaland. Playing slow doesn't stop him but it doesn't play to his strengths. He's the best striker in the world. Maybe play to his strengths.

Could've used a better example than the rags mate, they actually don't score at all, dippers or Madrid is a good example.

People say this “best forward in the world” like it’s an incredible badge of honour, in 2025 is not really a great achievement tbh. Who does he need to be better than? A 32 year old Kane, Oshimen who’s at Galatasaray, a 38 year old lewandowski? Isak at 7th place Newcastle? Trust me if this was 8-10 years ago he would probably scrape top 10.
1. Messi
2. Cristiano
3. Suarez
4. Lewandowski
5. Aguero
6. Benzema
7. Zlatan
8. Haaland?
9. Kane
10. Cavani

Haaland is a great goal scorer but he’s all round play and especially performances vs top teams is concerning at times. We aren’t doing him any favours with the way we play either tbh.

we fed one chance to him and scored that.

funny thing is Marmoush another player who we will only get the best out of if we play much quicker from the back and forget this crap and slow build up and 240 passes between Akanji and Ake or Stones before we decide to cross into a packed box.
