Agree, Yootha was terrific and played her role superbly.Robin knows best mate ;-)
I remember when Youtha Joyce died, she was a funny woman and only 53.
Will Hay was absolutely brilliant in Oh Mr Porter a long forgotten comedy genius .
Titfield Thunderbolt proper underrated film, the Classic "excuse me we are running at a profit" " oh no next thing you know we'll be nationalised " :-)What a comedy genius that man was.
Other films like Passport To Pimlico, Whisky Galore and The Titfield Thunderbolt are films worthy of a 100 Oscars IMHO.
Pimlico is a personal favourite. Stanley Holloway was brilliant in those Ealing classics. Lavender Hill MobWhat a comedy genius that man was.

Is he the bloke who designed those posh cookers? The Aga Khan has died. The spiritual leader and philanthropist will be best remembered here for breeding and owning Shergar which won the derby by a street. Later he was kidnapped probably by the IRA and was never seen again.
The Aga won the derby on four occasions an amazing feat.
RIP.

You are right of course a class act all round. One point...how does being a 'spirtitual leader' of the Shia Muslims equate with racing and in particular ..gambling?His Highness was a class act.
As you say, best known in the UK for his racing activities, but his foundation does great work in numerous countries.
I’m not an expert, but I would suspect that being a racehorse owner and breeder would be fine, given that (a) any prize money from your horses would not be regarded as a result of pure chance, and that (b) the prize money is not coming directly from your competitors. Having a stud farm would probably be seem as maintaining traditions and helping rural communities as well. You are right of course a class act all round. Easily pleased? It was actually funny. Light hearted comedy. From what I’ve seen advertised on the telly lately, what is insane is how today’s generation get away with calling some of the programmes comedies;)George and Mildred .......probably fetched about 20m viewers or more which must be insane to today's generation
Don't know how it stands up now but we were easily pleased in the days of three channels
RIP
Generally we were easily pleased. And there's nothing wrong with that.Easily pleased? It was actually funny. Light hearted comedy. From what I’ve seen advertised on the telly lately, what is insane is how today’s generation get away with calling some of the programmes comedies;)
