Leyton Orient (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

I just think we're all hoping to see signs we've turned the corner at long last and will finish the season strongly, sadly although there have been some signs we've improved a bit we're far from.our best still.
Agreed.

We were poor today, We went through which is the main thing.

Although we held on to go through, Personally after we went 2-1 ahead I wanted to see us see out the game like we normally do as in keeping possession and being in control, We didn't have that and we looked vulnerable from set pieces.

That's concerning that we have that massive vulnerability when we try see out games.

People moaning about the commentary for fucks sake. Of COURSE they would back the underdog.

We have much bigger problems than martin keown being a prick
Glenn Murray actually said to Rico post match that everybody in the country apart from City fans, wanted us to lose

He may be right but I’ve never heard this actually said during the coverage of a rags or dipper match against lower opposition

A win but…somethings not right on the pitch from watching precise passing etc for a few seasons to where is the next mistake coming from
Did you see the team selection (and I`m NOT knocking Pep) due to a massive game on Tuesday night ? That has a lot to do with "somethings not right on the pitch" with a lot of what I would call "second string players" who will hardly feature next season with a further overhaul due in the summer.

Was always going to be difficult. Pitch was terrible looked to have been over rolled on purpose and created a ridiculous ball bounce. Sunday league ref thrown in to let Orient kick fucking lumps out of us but we still came through. What an absolute **** Martin Keown is !!! How many snide remarks??? Fuck off you Arsenal **** !!!
Pep emotional again at the end he is going through the mill this season !
We go again CTID

We are not shit. We are a squad racked with injuries and with players who having won so much are now either knackered or maybe have lost their hunger.

With new players no game including today’s is going to be a cake walk. Put our chances away and we win easily.

Don’t fancy our chances v Madrid but you never know.

In 2025 I will settle for us winning in the courts.
Good objective post.
It was never going to be easy today; crowd right on top of the pitch, opposition fired up, ref being lenient in their favour, then they score a good goal with a fair slice of luck which boosts them even more. But we stuck at it, got a bit of luck and class told in the end.
We are in the bag for the next round which all that matters.

Good to see new ones bedding in and some academy boys getting positive result. Hopefully our injured ones come back asap

Could see why he was shaking his head at the end. The last 10 mins were abysmal from us and lucky not to concede.
They had 2-3 shots that easily could have tied it up. Starting to wonder if maybe once we get all our defenders back we dont start playing 3 at the back... Oh, forgot Pep is still coach.

Agree, perhaps half the team know not playing v Madrid and likely be gone in summer. I’m not questioning their professionalism but the drop in desire will obviously have an impact

Some of you lot need to give your heads a wobble. 1-2 we move on to the next one

But should it have been hard-going and sloppy, We don't learn and we let them play to their best ability
Yes, it's like a cup final for them and I understand the occasion in we are the champions and best team in England
but why do we not play like the Champions ? Pep at times was shaking his head and had to make 5 changes after a full week of training for this tie,

We move on as you said, But boy it was a hard watch

I have no issue with him saying that. I just dont get bothered by it because, well its true.
We KNOW they kiss the arses of the red shirts.
Rather than be bothered by it, be partizan instead

Marmoush is obviously gripping the wheel hard and making mistakes as a result. His mazey run there toward the end is better evidence of who I think he will be for us as he calms down and settles in.

Referee was biased. I was super impressed with Orient - they look a very disciplined outfit who knew how to get at us. Well managed even though the guy is a bit of a loon.
It wasn’t a great performance from us. Kevin showed that class is permanent. Neither youngsters did themselves favours. Marmoosh looked like he was being played out of position. Kusanov looked fast and strong. Big question though when did Pep give permission to abandon our press. It was poor to non existent today.

The commentary was embarrassing, to say City’s equaliser was lucky yet Orient’s goal was brilliant just goes to show the bias. OK it was an enterprising attempt but 9 times out of 10 the ball hits the bar and doesn’t hit the goalie’s arse
