When I say I wanted to see us go at their defence, I'm not neccesarily wanting an all out gung ho approach. Just wanted a quick, more direct attack. Wingers that want to beat their man, midfielders considering playing a ball in behind once in a blue moon, perhaps getting a cross in for haaland to attack.
I feel like we could actually have been more defensive than we were but with a quicker more direct attack still have been more considerably more threatening too.
It's the insistence on trying to build a slow 5 minute attack that almost always results in us losing the ball cheaply and offering no threat to their goal throughout that I disapprove of. It's pointless because we don't have the precision to keep the ball and we don't have that front press to win it back instantly and turn it into that sustained relentless pressure that eventually got us goals.
