Bruges fans the other night were saying what a good player he is, against weaker opposition. Said he never turns up in big games and is always injured.
Bullshit really though because he’s played well against good teams. He’s inconsistent as we all know but if he keeps getting his up like he did in his last 2 games he’s got the ability to be very good player against anyone. Biggest problem is he’s always fucking injured.

Doku frustrates me, he ties the immediate defenders in knots but takes so long to get his cross in the opposition have the remaining nine defenders back in place. That said I would rather he stays than goes, for now

Agreed but if we got our money back and upgraded would you?

Club is showing that it's willing to flex its financial muscle and bring in new faces, so all players need to get fit and start impressing. If they don't respond to the challenge and all we have to show come June is the Charity Shield, then I would think the management will have no option but to take tough decisions. Doku and Grealish should be pushing each other's performances to ever higher levels, yet neither is featuring, and that is a situation that cannot be tolerated indefinitely. I expect we'll see significant improvement across the board in the coming months.

Was he not fit enough for even a few minutes or was it just a tactical decision to leave him on the bench? Even if he got just one of their players booked and suspended for the 2nd leg, it would have been something. I would have put him on with Marmoush instead of Gundogan and probably a bit earlier than when those subs were actually made.

I think we missed him yesterday, we needed the threat and chaos on the press and he and Phil seem to work better together than Sav and Phil. It’s not coming from elsewhere. Not sure I’d have put him on in the dying embers and guess he’s not fit yet to come on earlier. Hopefully back for the weekend.

Saw both he and McAtee saunter back to the bench after halftime. Both had that look of players who knew they were on the bench to make up the numbers but were never going to be asked to strip.

Some fans saying we need him in the team? I think he’s dire and signings like Doku are why we are where we are. Tottenham level signings.
I’ve been hoping he can be more clinical and less selfish in the final third, but I’m just not convinced at this point. Savio looks like he’s improving in both regards and Bobb was on that trajectory before the injury. Add in his own injuries and it’s hard to see the point in keeping him when we should probably be able to get a decent fee for him.

Tell me how many times our wingers beat their man. The one time Foden drove into the box he got a penalty. Mendy was try for the taking, even Foden who isn't a tricky winger gave him issues. Also even if Doku gets 0 G+A he forces Valverde/Mendy to stay back and defend. He bring chaos into the Madrid box and Madrid was too fking comfortable last night with their makeshift defense.

I agree, I’m just saying Doku should never of been signed, we should be getting wingers that can dribble but also score more than 5 goals a season…

If he was 27, you'd be right. But he's 22 and might get much better. We can't buy finished articles for every posi, as that would be too expensive.

The worrying thing are the injuries. That's a problem. Let's hope he can stay fit for several months at least.

Your right going from Sane/Sterling/Mahrez in production is a big no grade. I blame the board they should have went for a proven winger. Pushed to unsettle Rodrygo last summer after they brought in Mbappe.
