He’s never getting sacked in my meaningless opinion. The club will give him the opportunity to set us right after this season and support him to get who he thinks he needs.

I also don’t quite think he’ll walk after this season. Considering recency bias, this season tarnishes his legacy and he seems too proud a guy to walk away from the challenge that is the rebuild that’s coming.

Needs to check his pride and stubbornness by being flexible in how we play and who he selects because what’s going on now can’t continue.

Yeah. That’s also a credible scenario.

Dunno has anyone actually said that? Genuine question btw I haven't read every post
A few have talked around it and a few have said things like times up

When push comes to shove every blue will back Pep to turn this around , I was just seeing if there were any idiots that would stick their heads above the parapet and ask for him to be sacked

No takers so far but there are a lot of idiots on here

Really makes me laugh when people say he's been figured out or that his system is failing, completely ignoring the fact that he's changed our style of playing multiple times already through his tenure.

First we had the 17-19 team that was direct, played with width in the form of Sterling and Sane and had two creative midfielders in KDB and Silva. That brought two league titles.

Then we had the false 9 system in 20-22 with loads of goalscoring creative midfielders who swamped the spaces between the lines. That brought two league titles.

And finally we had the dominant inverting full back/ box midfield system in 22-24. That also brought two league titles.

The next iteration will come next season when we ship out the old guard and integrate the new blood. It will probably bring two league titles like the other teams.

What is the current system supposed to be?

Why are we waiting till next season to integrate new blood, they are sat there and have been for months. Ive never seen someone so stubborn to keep trotting out the likes of Gundogan.

Eh? Nico signed last week and Marmoush has already started two games.

The two young defenders are longer term prospects.

For absolute clarity, I'm talking about next season

O'Reilly is a teenager and I really don't think Mcatee is good enough.
So you can't be good enough if your a teenager. I refuse to believe that O'Reilly offers less than what Gundogan has in the minutes hes had on the pitch. This hasn't been some prime version of City's midfield he can't get into. 90% of our squad is out on its feet most games and still the same suspects are getting the minutes, its a joke quite frankly.

There's an extremely good chance that O'Reilly is much worse than even this version of Gundo.

Look at how Lewis has been pilloried for his performances this season, and he has two years more experience than O'Reilly!

Thankfully he has what Lewis doesn't. That can get you 50% of the way in this current league.

Lewis is not a RB. Imagine how shit Kev or Gundo would be playing there

Pep isn’t going to play an untested kid ahead of an experienced pro. You can debate the rights or wrongs of this but the way he operates is that he has a core group of first team players who play the majority of games with kids to supplement in the lesser competitions to give the first teamers a rest. This has been true since he’s been here

He’s not going to sit Gundogan down and tell him he’s benched for Nico O’reilly , 6 months after asking him to come back

This method has delivered trophies galore but this season is the first that it’s not worked out as the seasoned pros are past their best

Pep has admitted this error , it will be rectified in the summer

Even the signings we have recently made reference his MO

Marmoush was just a direct replacement for Alvarez so not taking anyone’s place

Nico was signed to backfill Rodri’s injury so gain nobodies minutes are at risk

The two centre backs are both young enough to be happy to sit on the bench and get as many minutes as they can

We are just going to have to endure the rest of this season and wait for use to bounce back next

So Gundogan, Lewis and Bernie it is for the rest of the season.

Looks like it and it’s this stubbornness which is pissing me off . We have the most potent striker in the world and whenever we go direct he scores and we look great but then we go back to crab football and we lose .

People harp on Nunes being shit but I've seen him actually connect with Erling for a couple of good goals (crosses and line breaking passes) and what is his reward? Getting benched!

That's why lately I've seen him wanting to cross it but remembers no I shouldn't.. I should just recycle the ball and he passes it back to (insert name here)

So fucking frustrating isn’t and we will probably take all the creativity from Mamoush and he will be another jack grealish . This picking gundo week in week out is tearing us about yet pep doesn’t or refuses to see it .

It’s called “Doing a Phil Foden!”

Crazy that we want possession FOR POSSESSION’S SAKE now, instead of what it’s supposed to be for, which is creating goal scoring opportunities!
